I read the GoFundMe page earlier and was surprised to see there was nothing written to the effect of what the funds would be used for - that’s a big old grey area.

Seeing the amount of people on Facebook and other socials putting their thoughts in scares me how dumb some people are and whatever party lobbies a law that requires an IQ test for a vote will have my backing

Almost certainly just got pissed, shoved half of Colombia up his nose and then wandered off into the wilderness. Don’t know why it’s become such a massive story really.

Just watched his mum’s interview. He’s 100% got in drug debt trouble and she knows it.

The DCI Karens on Facebook are absolutely incredible.

I know they mean well, but holy fuck there's some thick people out there.

There was one suggestion to try emailing him, but disappointingly no suggestion of immediately then sending him a Teams message to let him know about the email.

Fundraiser is at 26k.

Amazing how easy it is to get people to part with their money and make a quid or too.
Must admit, I find any kind of Just Giving or Go Fund Me flawed. Captain Tom’s crooked hangers on is an example. What do people do with the funds once there is an outcome? Give it all away? Spend some of it on R and R

GoFundMe and the like I don’t trust in the slightest. Really rubs me up the wrong way.

Edit: I should specify I mean donating to ‘causes’ through it, not the platforms themselves.

I find the whole crowdfunding thing as soon as there's any tragedy a bit weird to be honest. Fair enough if it's the family asking for help with a specific thing but it seems these days anything happens and some random is starting a crowd funder for no specific reason.

And that's if the people involved ever see the money, so many cases where these funds start up and the money disappears.

Only sort of crowdfunded I’d donate to is a story I know well and am happy it’s real with a genuine cost involved. This is just “I’m in the news give me money”

It's not exactly MH370 is it, but somehow this is still going on. Pretty clear something weird has gone on. Probably the authorities know more.

Still amazes me how thick some people can be though, even by now when it's out in the open that he's a wrongun.

When you think about the crowd funding that was kindly done for that poor little boy in Cov killed by a hit and run, this really does leave a slightly bitter taste in your mouth.
