lol we always have an element of dumb fans who love a player because he runs alot. lol

i liked JOB mind as a player, but if hes not good for dressing room then we better off without him long term

trust in TM over any player

lol dont be pedantic

when I was a kid, all the kids hated the other teams. Sky Blue sam would be giving them the thumbs down and getting the crowd going.

Now there is too much friendliness going on, all the "welcome to the ricoh, thanks for coming, round of applause for their fans, we love you" type crap. I am not saying glass them all, just maybe not be so soft.

i agree. so start booing!

*opposition though! i know alot of our fans(not you nick) like to boo our own players if they do something really bad like make a misplaced pass after 8 mins.

Nah that is usually a swear word under my breath!
Ah okay, I didn't mean actually shouting "boo", I meant more given any kind of abuse.
With Hussey I wasn't booing him (as in a tradition boo), but knew the occasion shouts would be enough to break his concentration.

I find nothing more entertaining at a game as when it is all silent, and out of nowhere a grown man stands up on his own, cups his hands for extra volume and boos. Then sits down and carries on with what he was doing.

Football does make people weird, myself included when we score. I can't say I jump around much away from there like that.

I've always thought the Ricoh has been an easy place for teams to come to.
For fans and teams.
Imagin. As an away fan, on a dark cold Tuesday night walking through terraced streets lined by huge police horses and packing into a close ground where the west terrace boys are breathing over your every word.
Or
Pull off the M6 in your mini bus and sit in the corner, 6 blocks away from 'singers corner' and watch your enjoy your pie and pint at half time.

And the easier we make it for the fans the easier it is for the players to get a result.

Not even a ref after a poor decision?
I have booed a ref before for sure.

Last player I booed I think was against Fleetwood, where their big centre back (I think it was), went down flat on his face and lay there like he was shot and knocked out, saw he got nothing and then after 5 seconds of lying prone on the floor, suddenly got up and sprinted into the penalty box.

I never get that, never personally understand missing the game you've payed to watch for a drink or food.
That was a joke by the way never bought any food or drink last season at the games and I don't intend to bother buying anything again this season

Agree. Maybe not to the hooligan extremes but when we have the matchday announcers saying welcome to them, everybody give them a clap, thanks for coming so much it is a bit soft.

What happened to away Mascots too? I want to see Sky Blue Sam clotheslining their mascot.

The away fans are customers too, so nothing too far but just stop being so soft with them.

This spills over from the Mowbray favouritism for me.

He wasn't the best player by any means, but he had something a lot of our players didn't have, which was the will to fight and battle for 90 minutes, and still give 100% even when he was out of form. I do echo some of the comments that we may have been nearer the playoffs had he still been playing at the end of the season.

I won't get hung up over it any more, but I was really disappointed when he left. You can't blame him at all though, he was playing second wind to players that shouldn't have been on the pitch at that time.

I still feel we need a signing or two to replace that grit and determination if we want to do well this season. Those attributes can really be the difference between being 1-0 down and winning 2-1.

Come off it. I would run through walls to play for City but it doesn't mean I should get a game. It's a professional sport.

Yes, you might do, me too for that matter. However, there were times last year (Fleetwood at home stands out) where we lost the game because players were not running through walls, and pretty much just getting complacent. That's a typical example where Jim would have lifted things had he been on the pitch IMO.

I also didn't say that was his only good attribute, but it was his most outstanding one.

And some of the players had become lacklustre, stopped putting the shifts in and when we needed to grind for any result we could find became anonymous and faded into a desperate invisibility. Jim was one of the few that every time he came on he grinded, put pressure on and worked hard. I would rather someone was working hard and maybe didnt have a little 'flair', than a player who looked to have lost interest.
The players on the field at that point in the season CLEARLY weren't getting the job done, so when you need to grind out even a couple of draws you need the right type of player.

Yes he wasn't a fantastic footballer at times, but fuck me he had more about him than some of the embarrasing performances from other squad players in the back half of the season.

We get it, you and many other didnt rate him. But what happened didn't work for us, we had no grit and determination to fight for a playoff spot.

Yeah I got that, I had a couple of hot dogs last year as finished work and went straight up, you're not missing anything.

The only Cov player I ever booed was Simon Haworth. I immediately regretted it because it wasn't his fault he was shit. Never booed anyone since then although I have muttered FFS under my breath many times.

I just sarcastically say don't give up your day job,I've had a lifetime of watching donkeys pretending to be professional footballers wearing Sky Blue so no booing from me.

I didn't think he was that bad, just unlucky and a bit young still in his brief stint for us.

I reckon I was right as he went on to play 117 times for Wigan scoring 44 goals and 70 times tor Tranmere scoring 31 goals. OK a decent Championship level player in the end and the club sold him for as much as they paid for him.

No booing here, who is Jim O'Brien ? Never boo but moan like f***, take Tuesday when Ryan Haynes had a perfectly good ball played out to him on the wing.
It fell to his right foot, so he tried to run round it and take it on his left and it ran out of play. Did I moan? not much screamed at him " aint you got a right foot" and 5 min later he stroked in the first with his right lol. Mind you my 1 year old grandson would have stopped it !!

If we ever built the stadium in the clouds I would have no roof over the away fans so all their chanting goes straight into the sky and they get pissed on when it rains don't want people to enjoy their day here I want them to go home miserable and pointless.

Wanted to move closer to home? Did he tell you that personally? Or was that info from Mr.Mowbray/CET? That's why he now plays further from home than he did with us?

He said it repeatedly. And then when he signed for Salop he said he had learnt an important lesson and would be moving his family to be with him.

I don't agree with booing, but what winds me up even more is the adulation given to some. I don't mind clapping an ex-player in the warm up and that, but christ some of the ridiculous OTT treatment given to some is pathetic. Still never forgot those that clapped Andy Morrell when he scored against us. Glad Baker didn't come on against us on Tuesday. Would have been unbearable.

We would have collectively sucked the ball into the net for him.

O'Brien did very little and was out of position on numerous occasions he has no brain and was moaning at his team mates a lot.

That's why TM shipped him out. All he does is moan and moan and all the other players got sick of it.
Moving nearer to his family in Barnsley was a smoke screen.
