Allasani is 24 years old and Robins hasn’t used him even when he’s been fit so I doubt it

I know people complain about our players leaving to sit in the reserves but he’s started one game ever for us and that was in the Checkatrade in 2018

Yeah me too. People on here, report that Allassani was outstanding when they’ve seen him; sounds. Like he was outstanding at palace prior to being injured. Also, seems like he was very good when out on loan. Didn’t get a sniff here, did he?
Why sign him in the first place would be my question?

I seem to remember he came on away at Gillingham and looked decent, I would say outstanding, but would definitely have liked to have seen him play more.

For every Sam McCallum there’s a Bouwe Bosma. We took a low risk punt on these guys and it hasn’t worked out for them.

I remember when Allisani came on in a game at the Ricoh.

He was put up against a massive full back and we played long diagonals to him.

I get your point but I think in ‘talent’ terms these two were miles apart. Allassani had been very highly rated at palace, it was only injury that seemed to hold him back. I’ve read on here that he was a stand out performer in the U23s/reserves, seems to have done well in his loan spells. I thought he’d get some/more game time. I had no expectations for Bosma. For me Bosma felt like a punt in a way that Allassani didn’t.

Bosma is gonna be mcfadz replacement next season in the championship. Long term signing.

I joke of course. They wrote him off 2 weeks after signing him by sending him back out to lewes or whoever it was

He got his injuries after he left Palace I think. Was on trial at Sheff Weds but got injured hence dropping down to non league to play some games.

We signed him as a League 2 side & we’re now hopefully close to the Championship. His last loan spell was at the club we signed him from which says it all

Yeah, Allassani seemed like a big prospect that'd been unlucky with injuries and had worked hard to try and get back up. Bosma had never pulled up many trees elsewhere.

I didn't expect Allassani to get into the team straight away, but it's not even like he's featured much at other levels and has been said seems to have done decently on loan even if not at a particularly high level. Given what he's come back from i doubt there's any kind of issue with effort or commitment so the fact he's had so few opportunities seems odd. But for whatever reason MR hasn't fancied him and the way we've been playing it's not like he'd have been given much opportunity to break through anyway.

I expect we won't take up the extension on his contract but I hope the lad comes back from his ACL and manages to get another chance to prove himself elsewhere.

Suppose I meant that the financial risk was low

He was a big prospect at Palace but got an ACL injury just as he was about to break through
The lad talked about the depression he suffered during his rehab and he became disillusioned
Eventually he came back at Dulwich Hamlet and was part of their successful team and scored loads of goals
Lots of league clubs were looking at him but he chose us as we had a record of giving young players a chance
He was used in pre season and came on as sub in a few games when he joined but he missed a few chances when clean through
Possibly trying too hard or nervous, who knows but I think Robins gave up on him a bit
