This is a rash unfathomable business decision made by the club. Apart from a couple of false starts last year, the last time he played was at League 2 level over two years ago. It is completely unknown what the long term impact of the injury will be. We could be playing two tiers higher than when he last played. In terms of player contracts it is a buyers market so I hope the contract has a get out clause if he does not come up to standard he can be off loaded to a club at the level he should be playing at. In cricket terms I suspect Jones is a "flat track bully" who will struggle in a really competitive environment.
Lucky for him that he signed for CCFC and not Warwickshire CCC.
Using your logic I guess Sam McCallum shouldn’t bother going to Norwich either!

I think Mark Robins knows what he's doing and nothing happens at this club without it being his decision

I've thought this too, ever since MR re-took us over that one main condition is that he has all footballing decisions within the budget given.

However, he's not stupid enough to go splash £3M on a player while in League One and had a chat with Sepalla to see where the cash was needed most (yeah....I know...Handbags) and we're seeing some of that cash being spent, aswell as filling the void left by not getting 11K crowds, so far play to him, he's looking after the club as a whole.

Really brilliant news to see the club and jodi show loyalty and extend his deal. Wouldn't at all be surprised if we do have an option in our favour for another year but haven't said. Great to see him scoring and playing well in u23s and hopefully he can add that extra spark to get us over the line.

We don't know if he's capable at this level (or even the one above potentially) or how the injury will pan out but he does have pace we is something we don't have much of. I could see him in one of the ACM roles as an alternative to COH next year.

One year is sensible enough to see how it all pans out - if his injury holds up and he proves capable at that level great, if not we've had someone for a year on probably relatively low wages for that level and he can be released at the end of that.

I'd have liked an extra year option too because if he does do well he'll be in the final year of his contract and thus have a lot of bargaining power. We've stuck by him through two years of injuries so it would have been good to have that clause to activate so even if he is in demand we can get a decent fee for him still.

So hope he plays a part this season

What really would be rash and an ‘unfathomable business decision’ by the club would be invest in a players 2 year rehabilitation, only to release him months later.

A one year extension is the best of both worlds.

I think it’s a year and another option in the clubs favour.

Our system has changed he’s had to gain fitness back & learn the role he will be playing the advanced midfield role behind the striker under 23’s has been perfect did this yesterday scoring 2 goals,I fully expect him to now be used going into the final push he will be just like a new signing,Good Luck JJ.

I think I value the opinions of the management team that work with Jones day in, day out than the opinion of a clueless individual such as you pal

Wouldn't it be nice if Jodi came off the bench in the last game to score the winning goal to get us promoted

With an assist by Max.

At which point I would want to die immediately as life couldn't possibly get any better.
