who's going to score the goals?OSB...
I could not have put it better.
What would be more helpful is if we all look forward to the football Thorn is trying to produce with some exciting young talent and where inevitably we will soon record a win and the tide will turn. 3 games in looking forward to how we progress. Don't share the view we will be relegation fodder. Just don't.
Deluded much? Did you see our team last night? We have 10 senior players available at the moment inOSB...

Exactly if we are lucky Bell will chip in with 1 or 2, Eastwood + Platt may get 5 between them and that is about it.We will finish this season having scored a total of 18 goals. Juke will get 9, Mcsheff will get 5 and ROD will get 4. Keogh might pop up for one near the end of the season. Realistically who else is gonna get a reasonable number of goals???? That's right, no-one!!!
I think if I were JE and I read some of the brain dead character assassinations on here I'd want out big time after sponsoring the youth team to the tune of over £1m+ out of my own pocket over the years. He is a brilliant front man for the club, has always tries hard to generate interest and revenue, is a true fan (ie one of us) and even got married at HR.
FFS Paxman, open your fooking eyes man! This squad will be relegated by March. There is absolutely no evidence to suggest otherwise.

I agree Paxman. I don't think we'll get relegated either.
You mean the person put in charge of Northern Rock(after it had already been rescued), after 18 months of gardening leave at Barclays after losing a fortune over-extending credit when he was in charge of Barclaycard?
Saving the UK Banking system?? Christ.
I think you will find that barclays did not need rescuing in the recent credit crash, they managed on their own, they did not go anywhere near losing money.

Absolute nonsense, without new owners or investment relegation looks like a nailed on certanty to me at the moment & more importantly also to the bookies.
You are being ironic, right?

True, but a number of the keyboard warriors know so much better!!
Sponsored the youth team to over £1million over the years? Really? Who knew there was so much money in spark plugs?
Hardly character assassinations, just some who dont believe him to the legendary Mr Sky Blue, and have a sense of perspective. Same as Hoffman, the Sisu episode should cause us all to be a little more careful, after all Hoffman was involved with Sisu.
and i can hardly believe how moronic some of you supporters are.
seriously it's like most of you anti hoffman and elliot share 1 braincell between you.
We tend to use capital letters when required, and don't try to make a new word such as braincell from two seperate words brain and cell.
Still, it's nice and ironic being called moronic by a moron.
Not anti Hoffman per se, just wary, there is no doubt Sisu have been a bit of a disaster but welcoming another largely faceless group (after all Hoffman does not want to be involved with the running of the club then I think its right questions are asked, as for sharing a brain cell between us at least most can hold a cogent argument without resorting to statements which belittle others.
Dont forget when Sisu saved us we were desperate, just desperate for a glimmer of hope, we are now once again in that situation once again, it would be excellent if the group of investors Hoffman is bringing to the table bale us out and build a squad worthy of challenging at the top end, but as a city fan we have had far too many promises broken.
You're right of course sir, my keyboard is dodgy so my spacebar doesn't always work and since these are informal messages I don't feel the need to always be grammatically correct.
However since you're making a point of it, so shall I.
My point is, it's almost as if all of you anti Hoff / Elliot supporters think that they had a say in what went on all the time in the boardroom. If they did they wouldn't have resigned / forcibly removed.
Now I know a lot of you guys like to just be naysayers and doombringers, but those gentlemen are actual supporters, you know, like you and me. All they have been doing is trying to do what is best for the club, they brought in SISU, who at the time promised us a strategy to take us back up to the Premier League, this is why they supported SISU, this is why a majority of us supported SISU.
However, after they started selling our young talent and restricted us from buying more young talent, we saw that they had actually switched strategy, as did Ranson, Hoffman, Elliott etc.
But I figure you'll just read this and go on a rant at how Elliott was there in the Richardson and Robinson days... *sigh*
Now I'm going back to my informal typing, since you know, that is what this place is for.
So what is the strategy from Hofman's backers? Indeed, who are Hoffman's backers?
It was obvious to me, and others that the financial crisis was going to have an effect on any investment that SISU would be willing to put into the club, but the yay-sayers(opposite of nay-sayers?), were saying, "No, SISU have plenty of money, Ranson said that we don't need to sell anybody".
It was blatantly obvious the first Christmas after the signings of Dann,Fox, Westwood etc, when Ranson was issuing his "Hands off" statements to the press, that they were thinly disguised "Please come and buy our players, we have no money" pleas.
However, when they were sold, Ranson and his supporters then spun it as "their heads were turned, couldn't keep them from going to a Premiership club etc".
Ranson now says that he didn't want to sell the players and it was all down to SISU selling them. Either way, he's a dissembler, if not a downright liar, and the "poor, mislead by SISU Ranson", doesn't really wash coming from the same who crowed over his hard-nosed business rhetoric and his record as a "successful businessman, who wants to run us as a business".
Giving somebody a free pass again without asking any questions is falling into the same trap as before with SISU, we don't want to be going through the same process again three years down the line without at least having an idea about what we're getting into.
You'd just better hope that Compass don't decide to put ostrich burgers on the menu, as with your head deep in the sand you won't see them coming.
their strategy is to buy the half of the stadium and invest in getting a team again, easily done with 40 mil.
financial crisis did have a slight effect on our club, granted. however by selling our better players have just made this club worse, and was done above Ransons head.
you take quotes way out of context, just because someone wants our club to be ran like a business, doesn't mean they wont run it like a football club, both can and do exist.
i really don't have the time for me to go and pull out all of the facts which have been dug out and thrown in peoples faces many times, but the one major difference is, if hoffman bought the club and appointed his own chairman, we would then at least know the club is being ran by the fans, not a faceless board of directors that we have right now.
as for ransons "hands off" warning meaning the opposite, you don't know that, and is just your opinion and given the evidence that he resigned because of sales...twice shows a lot.
