True, there are always exceptions. However, are we in the position to let some rookie manager "have a go"? I don't think so. The majority of ex-players we've had as managers have been shocking.
I wouldn't want any "name" that basically hasn't had any (or limited) managerial experience as we're not in the position to let someone learn the trade. I think Caldwell is wrong for the job because at least he's been a manager within the last year. It must have been seven or eight years since Wise had anything to do with managing.
Im basing it on absolutely nothing but Hartson passionate guy who would take no shit.....where we are in league one and with some of our players attitude think just what we need and think he could be perfect!
We'll take anyone who is prepared to sign up for a short time to run a team with a very low budget. If it goes wrong, they blame the budget. We won't get anyone who is decent or has ambitions to build something. Another Venus type at best.
