Jordan Clarke supports fans (1 Viewer)

Clarke tells Cwr the players don't want to play at Northampton. Ricoh is their home.

I'm a local lad and I don't support this.

Good lad. It's about time one of the local players said something.

Where's this? The CT?

Very shocked if he's come out and said this so vehemently. Players are usually a lot more restrained in these situations.

Fair play to him if true though.

skybluealan - I wish other team players and Elvis would say the same. Playing in front of under 300 fans, no way.....

Agree and it would probably tip the balance if SP and the whole squad said we won't play at Sixfield.
How would the FL, Sisu, the PFA deal with that?
They could do it as a united force and uniting with us fans in opposition to this madness.
And don't anyone give me any guff about player's livelihoods. Their livelihoods as players with CCFC are very much under threat with us in this situation anyway.

sisu would love that - no wage bill, and we would see fisher at centre forward

Shocked, but pleased Otis?

I am glad , if it is the consensus of the players' opinions, that he has said it. It will be another issue for Sisu etc......the players can't be sacked, because the club is in a transfer embargo and cannot replace them. so, given that the player moral will be low, and results will reflect that, added to a fifteen point deduction, the crowds will be even more pathetically low. Sisu may not be cornered on the legal / administration front, but they will be cornered on the pitch! And ultimately, this will be about football, not business tactics.....because the football side will dictate what happens to the city of coventry having a club that represents it in the world of football- which is, at the end of the day, what we are all concerned about?

CCAFC (1883) at the Ricoh

Cobblers to Sisu.

Whilst I agree with your sentiment, their livelihoods are a lot more under threat if they speak out and you know it.

Jordan gave an interview with Geoff Foster which was aired on CWR this morning, basically stating that he nor the other players wanted to play at another "City or Town such as Northampton, The Ricoh is our home, and that is where we want to play".
More or less...

Hill83, re player's livelihoods, no I don't know it.
Their contracts in an environment of the farce at Northampton are much more under threat.
If the squad and management worked in unison it would be game over for the Northampton fiasco, and you know it.

The difference is, you are speculating. If a player speaks out directly against the regime they are setting themselves up for trouble. That isn't speculating. Like I said I agree with your sentiment, but in reality it's highly unlikely all the players would speak out for the reasons I've stated.

If they do, then fair play to them.

If the players go through the proper channels ie "PFA" SISU couldn't touch them. Remember 1996 threat of strike action in the premier league? 90% of players said they would strike after they went through the proper channels "PFA"

That would be ideal. How would that affect playing our matches though?

Hills, Jordan has spoken out. No speculating, I heard it on the local radio this morning.
I would speculate that he speaks for the whole of CCFC staff, players, the lot, tea ladies included.
Carl Baker has spoken out about it also.
I reiterate, their livelihoods are under greater threat if playing in Northampton. Sisu will ditch them as the financial mess they've brought on themselves deepens.
This is something the PFA should be pointing out to them. I would speculate that their agents will be whispering in their shell likes.

He'd better be careful..He could end up back in the bomb squad for a comment like that. Anything against Fishcake and Pressley's regime!!

Well done Jordan.

If he is relaying the consensus of player opinion, and Sisu take action against him, then the PFA will get involved. This in turn will drag the FL into the dispute, adding further embarrassment to their ineptitude in dealing with Sisu and the groundshare deal that they have sanctioned.

This may just bite the FL in the bum !

@spionkop

I know he's spoken out. I've said well done to him on this very thread. Your speculation is that if they all come out Northampton is off. You don't know that.

I genuinely despair for peoples ability to read on this forum sometimes.

Hills, no players, no game. What's difficult to understand there?
I despair of your support for this rotten regime.
Burbage, exactly right.
People working together, fans, players, we have a lot of power.

CCFCway, I know you're having a laugh, a smile, it stops us going mad. No issue with that. But we just have to look at the bigger picture.

Again, if you open your eyes and read you'll see that I don't support this regime.

Agreed. At this point, I want the players to be annoyed, get dropped and see who they play then. If I was Baker, I would speak to PFA and ask what their rights are. If no fans go to Northampton, and nor do they players, where does that leave the FL !

@Hills83.... If the "PFA" get involved it wouldn't be just CCFC players but the whole of the players in English football being involved. The Premier league players know that if trouble isn't averted in the lower leagues it will affect their position in the higher-archy. My old friend Roger Gibbins, ex Spurs, Norwich, Cardiff, and Cambridge player now works for the "PFA" and has done so for about 10 years, and he told me about 1996 "Players Strike" He said if the players don't stick together, there wouldn't be any Pro football for a very long time. Pro players have got the ultimate power, and if used properly can affect the whole of the Sports and leisure industry.

they would just find 11 acemedy kids to cotninue the season

and the boycotting players would like be blacklisted as what chairman wants to buy such volatile precious players?

Covcity4life, read my post, I said ALL the squad, tea ladies, the lot. One out, all out. No academy players available, they'd be showing solidarity.
As to your second point, no they wouldn't be blacklisted.
What's volatile? The players signed on the basis of playing at the Ricoh. They're human as well, families etc. They've got to do the travelling as well. It might be said that playing in front of 300 people in another town is not beneficial for their careers. Sure that'll have crossed their minds.
As Skybluekid said, players and fans united have the ultimate power.
I can't understand your thinking at all.

you are a dumb shit:guitar2:

no one can make people leave

and why would they do it voluntarily? it makes the players look volatile and why the hell would a tea lady or whatever wanna lose their job over a team they might not even support? ccfc is just an employer to many people, not all workers are fans.

It would be supported by fellow players of all leagues but it wouldnt mean they would be affected.

That is the thing, it is ok saying everybody should just walk out but when they have a mortgage to pay it is a bit different....
