Impossible

I'd rather we weren't too reliant on the loan market, two LWB and 6 loanees is too much. Get this guy in and another and develop our own. McCallum obviously a good backup option if money is tight and Norwich are up for it.

I think we have to utilise the loan system to a degree. I think four is about right. But I fully agree about developing our own. But developing means fans have to realise they are not finished articles so they will make mistakes and be inconsistent. Fans need to show more patience with the likes of Hyam, Wilson (who is still young as keepers go), O'Hare and Shipley. Even Bakayoko was worth a punt this season.

Ben Wilson isn’t young, he’s older than Marosi.

Good signing from the looks of it. Would hope we get a loan or some experience in at LWB as well when n the summer.

It’s funny how people react to a signing without knowing anything about the player

He could be the next Stuart Pearce or the next Stuart Urqhuart and no one knows

Yes, every signing is a risk. But so is chopping and changing managers every 5 minutes.

I agree. That said, with Urqhuart even, I kind of like the plucking unknowns and developing them - when it works it feels better to me than just finding the finished article.

It's kind of low risk too, as doubt they're on a fortune... and we don't expect many of the youth players to make it, so no real difference here, either.

Reading this back is hilarious and is why I find reactions to signings no one knows about random

I called it perfectly to be fair

Ah they got relegated from that league - he started 10 games. I’m sceptical given our shocking record with these sort of players

Are we going to hear about it every chance you get for the next 2 years?

I thought he was likely going Blackburn. Surely we can compete with Sheff Wed for someone?

Sheffield Wednesday, even in financial trouble, will still spend over their means and outweigh us in financial terms. They are interested in getting Josh Murphy on loan from Cardiff who must be on a fortune

Well given that he's already playing regularly at a decent enough level he's a bit better than the latter, but I know what you mean. Hopefully he's a gem, whoever scouted Mccallum knows what they're looking for in that regard.

Coventry City will finalise a deal to sign Josh Reid from Ross County this week, writes Scott Burns.

The Staggies have accepted an initial six-figure bid for their talented left-back, which will also include a number of sell ons and add ons.

Reid is expected to sign a three-year-contract with the Championship club this week but will return to the Highlanders on-loan for the season.

The 18-year-old broke into the Staggies’ first-team this season and has caught the eye of a number of English clubs this season.

The Sky Blues because of Covid travel issues are likely to allow Reid to do his medical remotely at the start of the week.

The teenager missed yesterday’s game at Ibrox with an Achilles problem.

Has a Danny Fox feel top this signing when we picked him and Scott Dann up from Walsall, really happy with this if true.

It really doesn’t feel like that

What makes you really happy anoht signing a young 18 year old development player from Scotland? Have you seen him play ?

Looks like a decent development signing, I imagine we’ll sign an older LWB in the summer if we cannot keep McCallum still.

This isn’t a development signing, not in the traditional sense anyway. He will be in the first team squad.

Is he going to start from Day 1? Probably not. So he is very much a development player - hence his loan back to Ross County.
