Spoke to my Blues supporting mate yesterday and he said they were linked with him.
Can’t see him dropping down to league 1. Blues fans seem to think they’re linked with everyone but haven’t made one signing. Aiming too high on signings as a league 1 club can be a disaster waiting to happen

Agreed, work with a bunch of them and fair play to there owners because they've got the fan base hooked after 5 managers and a relegation last year.

Bit of info as i’ve been informed unofficially! Hull offered 2y deal, Cov 3yr but less wage. Blues entered discussions also this week.

Putting Jimmy's clues together along with circumstantial evidence.
Fraser Hornby?
25 y-o from SV Darmstadt (who we have been in contact with to hook up a friendly). They have been relegated back to 2nd tier so may need to trim the squad.
Played 22/23 at Oostende in Belgian League....alongside Tatsu, so we must have watched Hornby play (or train) ;)
Pretty sure we were linked with him in the past - either last summer or Jan.

I reckon it's either him or Ugbo.

Ugbo would be good.

Options are:
- Rhian Brewster
- Sam Surridge
- Josh Bowler
- Keinan Davies
- Josh Koroma
- Sam Nombe
- Luke Thomas
- John McAtee

This is why I keep banging on about the European leagues. When you look at what your money gets you over here it just doesn’t excite. The only two that mildly interest me out of that lot is Davis and Thomas, the rest aren’t good enough to drag us out of the championship, and even Davis isn’t an improvement on Simms.

I hope we carry on with the savvy European recruitment, buying cheap, training on and selling for a profit; in the meantime hoping we have enough escape velocity to break our annual championship orbit.

The striker wouldn't have to be an improvement on Simms though would they? Otherwise that'd be a first choice striker we're looking at

Yeah fair enough, just seems strange to get in a player that’s really not at the level of our main striker just for the sake of it. Like they’re all around 25-ish I believe, not exactly going to come on leaps and bounds. I think we should be bolstering our squad with real quality not these semi-okay players.

Getting in a player at the same level as our main striker will cost way too much when there are bigger priorities elsewhere. Younger player with potential would be better

Yeah younger with potential is fine but I’m not sure how much potential some of those listed above actually have. Someone that’s 20 that’s already at a decent level is fine but if they’re at 25 and not really going anywhere then I don’t see why we should sign them, particularly if we’re going for this “buy cheap, train up, sell on” model.

Josh Maja "think we could get the best out of him"

Now Maja I could get on board with. Not amazing but not awful, he’s 25 which isn’t brilliant but as a sub he’s decent. I’m still hoping we can do a bit better but if that’s the benchmark/low-bar then I think we’re getting somewhere 😂
