So you write the constitution - wow - what’s it look like

A scenario where there are no more monarchs after the Queen would require matters like place of residence to be decided at the time. They could stay genuinely at any of the smaller residences which are still luxurious by any stretch.

I wonder why? Parents 5 weeks holiday 40 hours a week. Teachers 18 weeks holiday 30 hours a week. But we've a lost a day and I have my marking and lesson planning for those 5 year olds and I need another day and 10% more pay because someone else is getting it.

It's amazing you trust us with your children given we are such lazy wastes of space

well it’s not happening anyway as the vast majority are happy with the status quo - even old Nicola - i bet that annoys you no end

If you don't mind me asking Duffer, how old are you? We're you around for the silver Jubilee?
You say the jubilee is everywhere but I can remember the silver jubilee, and that really was everywhere, found this quite low key in comparison.
I drove through Coundon last night. It was like nothing was Going on. In our area in 1977 it was special, although I did wonder how long royalty would go on, even then. It was refreshing to see the same party location decked out in bunting etc this time. The one big difference was that the field we celebrated 1977 is now a housing estate.

It's ok most of the kids are the same. As long as you have your crb or whatever it's named these days, fine with the 30 hours childcare thanks 😊

Not really, and if all we did was just follow the majority life would be more dull-which you as a full time contrarian should know better than most.

Still-people who physically do work 5 days a week get the piss taken

A lady who has lived in palaces her whole life, cut ribbons, waved from balconies and eaten banquets gets lauded as a public servant

Britain in a nutshell. Cue 'miserable bastard'

I get in at 7 and leave at 6 most days. Because of course you want your children to get a proper education and don't just see schools as a creche, right? In fact as it's so easy how about I invite you in for the last half term? Full pay of course.

Forlorn hope I think.
Charity local to me is putting a fete on but I think it will be a washout.

I'm going to stick my head in, but some cake and then nip to the pub!

Couldn't really give a monkeys about the royals one way or the other. Idolising them is bit cringe but not quite as cringe as thinking you're going to start a revolution and throw them out. From what I'm seeing there's no appetite for that whatsoever outside of the usual circles.

I don’t think anyone has said they actually expect a change to the status quo.

We don’t have a choice about much hereditary unfairness, we actually do in this specific case.

The old ‘President Blair’ argument? Well if the President is intended to be ceremonial it doesn’t need to be a politician.

Imagine what you would gain in revenue if the palaces and royal buildings were opened up for visitors? Quite a bit compared to having to just gawk at them from the outside. Tourists don’t come to see the Queen, they come to see the landmarks. France seem to do fine on the tourism count.

That before we get into the tax privileges afforded by the various duchies…

The point about heads of state is to be careful what you wish for. We currently have a monarchy that appears focussed on duty and service (I wouldn’t swap places, palaces or not !), a lot of that probably comes from the hereditary nature and there’s no certainty it would be the same with an elected HoS…in fact I’d almost guarantee it wouldn’t

One thing that seems certain anyway is that nobody watched the crap that England served up last night. So credit to the Queen for that
Didn't even know we were playing until this morning. I sure don't have an appetite for that shite.

Duty and service in practice meaning eating banquets, living in palaces, shaking hands etc. I think many would swap in an instant.

Macron is a prick but at least a prick focused on working for those who elected him. With a hereditary scenario you are leaving it to random chance and saying that nobody else is worthy of the job.

It's England. I feel obligated to watch them, regardless.

I can watch almost any football going (although I rarely get the time now) but internationals outside of the major tournaments just bore me to tears.

You know what surprises me-you’ve been told more than once I’ve genuinely been depressed. Saying ‘stop moaning’ after being fairly told just makes you a prick in my book.

Honest question, dead easy answer.

Are you trolling, or do you genuinely believe this?

Trolling then. This from the bloke who cries endlessly about being picked on.

Come on, admit it, you enjoy a good pile-on really, don't you? It's the only possible reason for posting such laughable rubbish.

Please sir, can I have another. 😂

Perhaps don’t moan! I mean really how can anyone be wound up about a constitution that’s existed for centuries - just accept it makes most people happy and move on

president Johnson and lady Carrie won’t make you any happier

In fairness mate, they're usually pretty boring in the tournaments too.

I'm not saying you're wrong, just saying that I can't help myself!

He cries about what?

He stands for what he thinks

Most on here are politically aligned and give dogs abuse to any with another view

then moan and whine when a bit comes back

Picked on? Are you for real? Endlessly? Wow! I post less on these than you or most and it's the same in every thread, rinse and repeat the forum v G, but I don't think I've ever felt a victim. I'm not scouse.

Anyhow we're off to London for a couple of days now the celebrations have died down, Queen and Adam Lambert at the o2. Been waiting 2 years, could be dead if we don't see them soon - me or them!

Have fun all see you later.
