CCC QC getting his turn for a grilling now. Can't say the judge isn't being fair.

@TheSimonGilbert: Sisu argument was that they could have better negotiated with the bank. Coun QC says bank rejected later offers of 6 and 12m

Council QC says Yorkshire Bank’s decision to offer a restructured £15.5m loan to ACL “kills the claimants’ case on state aid stone dead.”
Council QC says Sisu’s case is that the council should have accepted their offer on their terms.
Judge cuts in and says it was “worse than that” as Sisu was not prepared to pay more than £5m for the bank loan and it must be debatable they would have accepted that.
Council QC says it may have been a legitimate option to let ACL go into liquidation but it was right to look hard for other options first.
Council would get “significant return” through interest on the £14.4m loan.
Loan deal removed the impasse on rent negotiations says Council QC.

What's the judges point when he'c cut in there when he says "it's worse than that"?

Not getting that bit.

This is so weird, it's like an average SBT thread in High Court...

I'm waiting for someone to make a terrible pun or call the judge an ACL plant.

Amazing how Simon has come to life now.

Let's be honest sisu haven't said nothing in court that they haven't already been saying. At best they just confirmed the financial figures of the spin they've been spinning for longer than anyone cares to remember. So nothing much new to report, certainly no smoking gun that I can see.

The council on the other hand have been on a media black out for as long as anyone can remember. So what they've got to say in answer to the last umpteen months of sisu spin was always going to be more interesting. Was it not.
