No - not that one. Think it was an interview with TF.
Just came in to hear this piffle. As I said a couple of days back, if there was money in it for the legal system then this will run and run. SISU might eventually win this battle and crush all opponents one way or another but whilst they are doing this they must be losing the goodwill of thousands of Coventry City supporters. Huge numbers will have been disenfranchised by the whole seedy and immoral journey that they will have been dragged through. There is only one way forward for CCFC and somehow that is without this despicable hedge fund bleeding it dry and loading debt against it !
An interview with TF reported in the Telegraph? And you're viewing this as a bastion of integrity for what reason?
Doesn't it depend just a little bit on what new information comes out?
There was a lot of strong calls for the administrator to investigate deep into the actions of present and former ccfc directors. So naturally we welcome an investigation into this part of the mess too?
The wheels of justice turn so slow, but must seem so fast compared to SISU building a new stadium
nikki sinclair and bollocks , not any more. This decision doesn't benefit the club, the fans or anybody
Except the promotion of self interest like Nikki Sinclair and Les Reid....chance for them to spout more bollocks from the sidelines.
nikki sinclair and bollocks , not any more.
Earrings? Provided they were a matched pair, of course.I wonder what they did with them after they were removed? Dog food factory?
Sound a bit arsey MMM? My statement was aimed at James Smith who claimed the justification for loan restructuring was distress at not receiving rental values for a year.
That's misleading as the final debt was 6 months rent and they is a fairly small percentage of ACL turnover.
No - not that one. Think it was an interview with TF.
I think you miss the point - if ACL's owners (CCC and Higgs) had agreed to the plan to distress the YB mortgage then why/how would ACL have a case against sisu?
Yes - although I do believe there's an earlier interview where he says much the same thing. but this will do - just scroll down to question 9 and read. There is the basis for the JR explained in pretty simple terms even I can understand.
Trust said:The news that the High Court has upheld SISU’s appeal to apply for a full judicial review has been granted, whilst not unexpected, is unwelcome at a time when all involved should be focused on the best way of getting the team playing back in Coventry.
The club is dying in Northampton yet a resolution now appears as far away as ever. It again drives an unwelcome wedge between the parties and drags the whole matter out for many more months, possibly years, creating more frustration and uncertainty for the clubs long-suffering fans.
The Sky Blue Trust calls upon all parties to put this matter to one side and use the time before the hearing to work together to find a way of bringing Coventry City home.
It would be unforgivable for any of the parties involved to hide behind this Court action as a reason not to progress talks on a resolution and we would urge all involved to keep talking in a spirit of co-operation, not antagonism and recrimination. We all want the Sky Blues back in Coventry and quickly.
One question that must be asked is how does is this Judicial Review of benefit to Coventry City Football Club? The whole drawn out legal process is draining precious funds from the Council, from ACL and, we have to assume, from the Football Club itself.
Money that each party could put to far more beneficial use, be that infrastructure investment or new players. So the question has to be asked – How does prolonging this process benefit the club and the fans?
Which bit?
My point is if it wasn't
Whose to say the first judge was not right and the second wrong etc etc.
You should abide by the judges decision if it is that definitive, and have a threshold where an appeal is allowed if the judge says it was a tough decision.
But an appeal seemed farcical in these circumstances.
Then for SISU to win it you must question our legal system. How can you go from this request is an absolute joke to yes it should happen.
I just hope new evidence came to light.
What ever happened to trueskyblue with all his legal knowledge?
I AM HERE! until nick bans me again!!!
i remember informing all of you that sisu simply needed to re-apply for JR. i was called every name under the sun!
the council (like i told you last time) will lose this battle, and they together with ACL will lose around £17 to £24 million. ACL will be out of business - in come SISU!! they are a hedge fund - this is they're professionalism!! they are good at it - Coventry council messed with the wrong lot this time!!
back in the Ricoh by Christmas? no chance. owning the Ricoh by Christmas 2014 put your house on it.
the sooner the better huh! glad to see many folks seeing the council for what they are now. scumbags
I concur with everything you say but am not prepared to blame either CCC or ACL for the mess in which we find ourselves. Yes, the rent was excessive BUT Shitzu should have dealt with that a very long time ago. An offer of substantially reduced rent was made some time ago and not taken up. I know that some people regard this offer as questionable but common sense tells us that if they had wanted to Shitzu could easily have accepted it. In short, I believe that all this shit has been created by Shitzu for one purpose and one purpose only.Perhaps those rejoicing in today's decision could explain exactly how it benefits CCFC? Surely all it does is to prolong our absence from our home city and will increase our chances of dropping further down the leagues due to FFP and us being unable to compete financially at the level we're at? The court case and appeals could drag on for months or even years and there is every chance the end result could be there will ne no need to pay any loans back...we'll be further in debt and our demise will probably have continued. How could anyone professing to be a CCFC fan be happy with that? I've seen some good comments from many who have quite rightly questioned ACL/CCC's part in all this but they don't seem to be rejoicing at this news as they can't see what's in it for us...and by us I mean CCFC not SISU. Maybe some 'fans' just hate CCC more than they love the club....

I don't think the other parties have come out of this with their reputations untarnished however.
I can't see what's in it for us, as much because what you say, the winners lose also.
If (still think it's unlikely) their case is upheld however, I'd have been very pleased they actually pursued it, as it would indeed suggest the club had been pushed out.
And that would not be good, it might also get fans onside behind the club again. That might be good.
Alas it'll take forever to get a result, then there'll undoubtedly be an appeal after that, so forever and a day to get a result.
What it may do however, is focus minds to reach a settlement out of court, it might actually push towards a resolution. Now there's a prospect of an actual case to defend, it might open the door to a compromise to avoid that.
That's not rejoicing though, any more than it'd be crazy to rejoice had the council won this round. The whole thing's hardly worth celebrating, as one financial entity sets itself up against another. Are there many rejoicing? There's the usual suspect, but he's an, errrm, mentalist anyway!
And if the club had indeed been pushed out (again, i repeat I'd be surprised if SISU won the actual case) I'd like to know that. If SISU do have a winnable case, they should absolutely be allowed to win it. Unfortunately it's only after the event that we know whether the fight was worthwhile. If it focusses minds on resolution rather than fighting however, that's not necessarily a bad thing...
I agree with that NW but I really don't feel confident it will focus minds on reaching a resolution particularly if SISU's aim is to distress ACL and force them to have to pay the £14M loan back...I would've thought CCC would be encouraged by the comments of the 1st judge and might fight it to the end...the process could take a very long time! I think it depends on the resolve of both and how desperate they are to reach an agreement...if both dig their heels we can kiss goodbye to watching our team in Coventry for the forseeable...
Not disagreeing!
Unfortunately this is the Catch 22 isn't it? Flush everything out in the courts is maybe the only way long term we as fans can find resolution as much as anything, at least it gets us away from provocative press releases from both sides, and onto the facts.
What's left as and after they do that however...!
congratulations, you've managed to do what I thought was impossible. You've united every poster on this forum.I AM HERE! until nick bans me again!!!

Coventry council didn't mess with SISU - SISU said sell the Ricoh to us at our price or we will tie you up in expensive litigation. To me that is SISU messing with an elected body. The council should not be involved with the Ricoh, but up until now I haven't seen a valid alternative. The door is, apparently, open to anyone with a serious and sustainable plan. SISU do not come into this category based on past experience. Trying to win a JR against the owners of the freehold won't help their case as potential purchasers either. I don't see the council as generous angels in this saga, but the term "scumbags" would appear to fit SISU better.I AM HERE! until nick bans me again!!!
