Juke in front of goal (1 Viewer)

It has been seeming to me that Jutkiewicz, whilst he has been good working with the ball outside of the box, it seems that every time we see him approach the goalmouth, he can't seem to put it away. Just wondering if people thought he just needs a couple to get him into the swing, or is we think he's the sort of player that will never be able to put them away reguarly

Obviously that can be linked back to what sort of new striker we would hope to sign.

Juke's always created our goals as opposed to scoring them. He got a few playing alongside King last season so it would appear he's the sort of striker who needs a partner to draw a defender or 2 away from him - giving him the extra split second to line himself up. He is young though so I imagine he'll get more prolific as he matures.

This is my point, we are regarding him as our only real chance up front at the moment. But he isn't that sort of player, so unless ROD comes into a vein of form or something, then we really are in trouble. I suppose we can only hope that RODs goal (however scuffed and point blank it was) will give him some confidence. Besides, it was juke who hit the bar from about a yard out that gave him that chance anyway, a really clever pass perhaps? :p

....remember in a match last year that he missed about five sitters (Palarse away) couldn't believe one of them!!!.....a lot of effort but no end product.....it is make or break for him this season.

The work rate and skill Juke has at getting past players is perfect for feeding to a goalscorer. He is the ultimate assist player, but we need a finisher. If only Marlon King had stayed ay

Exactly guicey, if we don't get anyone in then our only hope is that ROD becomes that finisher. But i don't see it to be fair.

Yeah ROD shows he's a great goalscorer at lower league level, not sure if he can cut it at championship level. I hope i'm proved wrong

juke has got loads of potential but he is no way near enough to bang the goals we need,we could do with a couple of forwards me thinks as well as a few more,

Juke simply isn't a goal poacher. How many times has he hit the bar now? We desperately need a goal-poacher to play off of him.

His problem isnt that he missed a few in the past - all good strikers do. The biggest limiting factor is consistent and decent service. Right now he doesnt know where his next chance is coming from. If he starts scoring his hit rate will improve with his confidence and it becomes more natural. Against Leicester the only chances he had he made himself - over the years thats been a recurring factor for our strikers - lack of service
