If the club had asked for more volunteers yesterday they'd have got them. I live in Bell Green so I'd have been there no problem, and I know others too would as well. Remember the club in the 60's asking for snow clearer's, piles of the stuff shifted and games on !

Well you really need to say why.
What advantage do they get from preventing our game from lrogressing .
I can think of a major negative being Money .

1) The safety officer is from Wasps.
2) No football match means no damage to the pitch for their game.
3) No football means more time for them to clear the Ricoh up
4) No football means that any desperate sports fan from the area might be tempted to watch them instead.
5) The football club look unprofessional if they can't get the game on at the last minute having said it was fine.
6) It makes Wasps look more professional putting their game on.

Sure, all of those things on their own don't mean a lot, but put them together and there is an argument. Something wasn't right about how yesterday's game was called off. Suddenly having a Wasps game on 24hours later with no issue looks a bit suspicious to me.

But the weather has changed and was forecast to do so.

I think our inability to get the game on is a lot more to do with a lack of forward thinking and being caught on the hop.

The second they called that game off yesterday if I was there I would have started to get the snow that we had removed and taken it back to the stands and compacted it to make sure they didn’t get their little game on

Be interesting to know how Adge got the heads up with the need for help?
A simple tweet would have seen a couple of hundred show up to help. The Idea they wanted the afternoon to themselves to sort it for today could have been invested during the morning with the same benefit.
The pitch would have been exactly the same as its been when we've played prior to them, just not critical.
Commercially it will have cost them.
Did they put the resources in yesterday that they have for today .
Are they trying to damage us or themselves reputationally when it appears things at the stadium have improved .
Nights with promotions and use of the Jaguar hall?

Well done Adge and others ;)

What the hell! 2 Stewards in the green coats, 1 standing around and the other 1 in the distance looks like they are sitting down!:emoji_anguished:
I should have got the whip out!

Can we ask how you came to know they needed help Adge, as a tweet could have helped mobilise a few more?

Fisher rolled over and gave him a nudge ;)
Actually it was Joy after me filling up her new 18 plate Jag!
The LWCCFCSC got an e-mail from the club for help/volunteers. I assume other parties did aswell as us.

I think that is bang on

Because our game was off they had more access and time to clear up for their own game.

or if our game was on, a push to clear would have happened and the footfall at yesterdays game would have meant there was very little to do by wasps

1) the safety officer is employed by us on the day as we are renting the stadium.
2) I don't think us playing on it affects the pitch for them as much as it does for us.
3) yes it does.
4) I don't think it will boost their attendance much at all. Leicester City FC probably benefited more.
5) We didn't look any less professional than Aston Villa, Wolves, in fact most football and rugby clubs outside the Premier divisions.
6) It doesn't make Wasps look more professional, see your point 3 plus there has been no further snow and today is a lot warmer. If our fixture had been today it would have been on.

Just because they are wearing those coats doesn't automatically make them CCFC stewards they could be Wasps people borrowing the coat from the Stewards room. Both CCFC and Wasps Stewards utilise the same coats, which never get cleaned - I've picked up a coat with some dirty gits snotty tissue left in the pocket! Never left me a tenner in it tho lol

1) Wasps are involved in stadium safety and will have had a say in the game being on or not.
2) Irrelevant. Us playing on the pitch would have made it worse for them today, not better.
3) Thank you.
4) Aston Villa and Wolves called their games off after informing the fans of what was going on, including inspections. They also didn't do it at the last minute like we did.
5) Maybe it won't boost it that much but it still will boost it. It's their long game, so even a handful of fans who change their allegiance is a win for them.
6) Yes the weather is better, but we were still told by Lincolnshire Police that the roads were fine yesterday. Having a game on in the same stadium 24 hours after one was called off in a really unorganised manor makes us look bad, and them better. Again, it's the long game.

Maybe the 4000 fans travelling in dangerous conditions plus the snow not melting in surrounding areas near the ground was the major factor? Fair play to everyone who helped. You can only do your best.

The roads in Lincolnshire had nothing to do with our game being called off it was the stadium itself. The decision was made at 9.50 so not last minute.

The only unprofessional thing about our club was some of our fans ridiculously trying to blame Lincoln for the postponement and bleating like Sunderland fans.

We were hardly last minute.
Villa 8.40 am
Wolves 9.15am
Ccfc 9.56 am

Both really weak attempts at overall counter arguments.

You can't blame the club for holding off as long as they could considering all of the effort that had gone into bringing around 60 former players to the city for legends day.
