Does anyone else find it odd that we are linked with a player before Frank has his feet under the table? Surely that means he has not been involved in it or had a say so far. He must be given the say so on if he wants him or not
I’m sure Lampard would get a veto but we can’t stop all recruitment processes for 2 months before Jan to wait for him to settle in.

I think you’re spot on. He’ll be able to say no and give a new direction but imagine our recruitment are still scouting the players which would of been identified under Mark

Almost certainly made up, as fun as it would be to believe Atalanta want a 27yo playing in the MLS

Your American MLS guy here.

Kai Wagner would freaking kill it here. He is the best crossing full back in the league outside of Jordi Alba. He has been at or near the top of the league in assists the last several years. Absolutely elite skill set in attack and a clear upgrade from Bidwell.

This is one of several MLS guys that I would beat down a door for to get them to Cov.

59 days if we get him on deadline day as per usual. Nearly 2 months of LB deficiency.

Nar, signs on the 2nd of January but then has to wait until the end of month for international clearance.

Yes. Solid enough defensively in these areas. Won't wow you, but isn't going to be the obvious weak link either. Philly's defensive numbers took a nosedive this year, but that was attributable to the centerbacks having a really poor year, Philly selling their single-pivot DM who was excellent defensively, and constant injuries to their stellar goalkeeper who is also running into father time.

But Wagner isn't getting a move to a Championship side with promotion on their mind due to his defensive abilities. It is because he is left foot is an absolute weapon.

We already have lots of absolute weapons here. Not sure we want another.

I often think Recruitment Officers don't listen enough to sensible fan recommendations or canvas our own players. We got Stuart Pearce and Rosario on our own player recommendations. Any players you would want coming our way from the US of A?

You’re joking right ?!?

Many Cov fans only think about former players when considering who we should bring to the club.

Players on the other hand do get sounded out about the character of players that the club may have identified ….

Agree with the other reactions on here. Clubs shouldn't listen to fans. So many factors at play that supporters never consider.

That being said, here are a few of the MLS players that I think could be a smart signing for the right club / right situation in the Championship without breaking the budget and being the right age profile.

Leonardo Campana (ST - Inter Miami)
Dejan Joveljic (ST - LA Galaxy)
Jesus Ferreira (ST/AM - Dallas)
Patrick Agyemang (ST - Charlotte)
Duncan McGuire (ST - Orlando)

Evander (AM - Portland)
Quinn Sullivan (AM - Philadelphia)
Jacob Shaffelburg (W - Nashville)
Esmir Bajraktarevic (AM - New England)
Brian Gutierrez (AM - Chicago)
Diego Luna (AM - Real Salt Lake)
Coco Carrasquilla (W - Houston)
Bongokuhle Hlongwane (W - Minnesota)

Cole Bassett (CM - Colorado)
Daniel Pereira (CM - Austin)
Jack McGlynn (CM - Philadelphia)

Luca Orellano (LWB - FC Cincinnati)
Alvaro Barreal (LWB - FC Cincinnati - on loan)
John Tolkin (LB - NY Red Bulls)
Juan David Mosquera (RB - Portland)

Ranko Veselinovic (CB - Vancouver)
Moise Bombito (CB - Colorado)
Miles Robinson (CB - FC Cincinnati)
Adilson Malanda (CB - Charlotte)
Jackson Ragen (CB - Seattle)

Patrick Schulte (GK - Columbus)
Roman Celentano (GL - FC Cincinnati)
Chris Brady (GK - Chicago)

I quite like the idea of getting in another shot stopper, just so we could amend the legendary Sky Blue terrace song and instead of a team of Gary Breen's, we would be singing about a team of goalkeepers

Plenty more in MLS that would absolutely thrive. But was focused on smart budget buys at a younger age, rather than the late 20's stars that you will have to pay full sticker price for and probably wouldn't go unless a big time Top 4 league offer came.
