Guys, I follow the Cov story with interest but this has got me laughing my head off.
Have I got this right?.. The supporters group want to make an agreement about paying the rent. The Club says they'll consider the idea. But it's going nowhere because they can't agree whether to speak by phone or email?
Doesn't bode well for more detailed agreements...
Hence I asked if ml has said they won't meet and it's calls only or just a courtesy call first?
You can still answer simple questions without breaking confidential agreements isnt there? Don't tell me he can't say whether ML has actually tried to call him or not because it is confidential? I don't expect him to even name the backers (even though they are pretty obvious) or anything confidential but when simple questions can't be answered it rings alarm bells, the same as "where is the stadium" but the difference is at least you get half a riddle of an answer from SISU rather than straight up ignored.
Michael is just doing as much spinning in this instance but to be fair he is going to try and out-spin somebody who makes a living out of it and I fear it may end up messy
If you know somebody is amazing at boxing, the best way of attack isn't to walk up to them and offer them a boxing match is it?
Stop it.Has the council agreed to this? Are the Ricoh Arena aware of this plan also
Isn't it fairly clear that no time or venue has been offered by ML. I presume he could easily do so via email.
Did he need to sort out those other meetings via a phone call, Nick?
I see your point in "pick up the phone", though this could be interpreted as any means of communication. And while yes, many people would use the phone as an initial ice breaker, or to see if something is worth persuing in earnest, Michaels probably been advised that any contact should be documented. Hence sending a text rather than speaking.
If this is the case, really can't blame him going on past histories between all the major players. If a couple of people from here were to chat over the phone, who's to say what was REALLY discussed. And which person would you believe?
Yes, it was a case of a couple of emails and then a call just to try and clear it up to go through a few things and then an email just to confirm really.
Has ML actually said he won't meet? Michael said earlier that ML had said it was phone calls only, that is why I was asking about wording as to whether ML had said "Can we have a quick chat first?" or "Before we meet can I give you a call to go through a couple of things?" like my experience, if he actually said "I am never going to meet you we can only do this on the phone" then it is a different ball game all together.
Michael doesn't seem very keen to clear it up though does he?
Okay, here it is: my offer of assistance! Unlike Grendel, I'm not great on the phone, but I think I can write a rather decent email! So, my suggestion is that ML gets in touch with Grendel to arrange details of a meeting; Grendel then PMs me with the details; I then email these details to Michael; he can then discuss this with his backers and accept the time and date, or suggest a different date and/or time; Michael can then email me back with the response; I will PM Grendel with the response; Grendel can call ML and advise him of the response; if the date/time was confirmed okay by Michael then the meeting can go ahead, but if a different date and/or time has been suggested then ML will have to respond to this; ML will call Grendel and give him the response; Grendel can PM me with the response; I will email Michael with the response; if the response is an acceptance of the date/time suggested by Michael then nothing else needs to be done, but if it's to suggest an alternative date and/or time then Michael can discuss this with his backers; Michael can then email me his response; I will PM Grendel with the response; Grendel can call ML with the response; and so on and so forth until we get a meeting sorted!!!
I think this is the only sensible solution to this problem!!!
Well that's good ML has access to email and knows how to use it !!
So what's the fuss ????
Hasn't Michael said he has been texting ML? That is in writing too?
Maybe some day people will start to be cynical and pick up on things to try and judge for themselves
Personally I like a hard copy in the post as confirmaiton of a phone call and email.....Happy to hand deliver if I can be part of your solution
That's not a bad approach Nick.
So being cynical, I can see why ML/SISU might want to avoid a meeting to talk about a rent deal whilst at the same time pretending that they're willing to discuss things.
Being cynical, why would Michael pretend to be avoiding a meeting?
Just out of interest, Nick. When ML made contact with regard to meeting people from this forum - did he insist on a phone call to sort it all out?
Why don't ML send his best carrier pigeon!!!!!
I can't even bring myself to do a proper "Grendel's already offered" joke.
Both sides are fucking idiots.
On form with the jokes I have to say.
Still don't know why Michael is running around doing the "mystery businessman's" work for him.
I just hope that if he is being properly stitched up that he doesn't just take the flack for it (Michael that is) as if it is the case, somebody has clearly taken advantage as his passion and desire to get the club back and basically put him in the firing line.
It's fairly bloody obvious sisu will not be communicating by E Mail as Kcic are admitting they will use this as evidence if needs be!
What a lot of shit this is.

Michael doesn't seem very keen to clear it up though does he? If ML has said "we wont ever meet you we can only do this on the phone" then I agree its shocking!
On the other hand, if ML has said "can we have a quick chat first for some more details?" (lets face it, the offer had NO detail on) and Michael has come straight on here and said "SISU WONT MEET ME" then it is shocking the other way.
The frustrating thing is Michael can be a hero if he pulls this off, so I don't understand why he won't take a simple call to arrange a meeting.
kcic's sole interest (unlike it appears anyone else at all) is doing something concrete to get us back to the ricoh. kcic has played this dead straight. The offer was made formally and privately. Time was given for a response before going public. We were led to believe yesterday morning by a third party that sisu wanted talks. I have sent several txts to ML offering times and dates and been nothing other than completely polite. I did receive an email this morning and replied "Great! Mark, please just email me details for meeting and I will share with colleagues". I have not as yet received a response. I am not going to get into games of illegally recording a telephone call as has been suggested on here! If a simple email is too much trouble for sisu then I really can't see what more kcic can do. As I said, I'm completely and utterly depressed but credit where it's due and well played to ML for the way he has spun this - kcic as an informal fans' group just can't compete with sisu's pr expertise
I can only believe that there isn't any serious intent on ML's behalf to discuss this matter, but he'd like to blame it on the intransigence of others. Having said that, if Michael's deliberately avoiding talking to ML on the phone, then it's playing into his hands somewhat.
Can anyone explain why sisu cant do a deal with acl themselves?
I don't get it. I know relationships have broken down but I would rather deal with the devil myself as it were than get screwed by a third party. There is the trust issue but sounds like sisu don't trust KCIC either so makes no difference. If sisu want to come back I think a lot more respect would be shown if they said sorry and made some gestures and went to ACL directly to show remorse and balls instead of hiding behind a third party.
Exactly, and if Michael can't or won't answer the phone to SISU then what happens if we are back there and he is the middle man?
KCIC Facebook said:I can't think of another situation in my entire life when I wouldn't be more than happy to discuss things over the phone but there are several people involved in this and previous 'confusion' 'misunderstanding' 'quoted out of context' etc has left people feeling once bitten twice shy so to speak.

I try to point this out by saying "be the bigger man" and "show it how it should be done" but just get shot down for it.
No, that's fair enough I guess. I take your point. I'm still of the opinion that SISU don't want to talk about the offer, and what Michael's done would be entirely reasonable in normal circumstances. However there's nothing normal about SISU and the way they do business.
Having thought this through, I think I'd just try to shut down all options for escape, and say something like, we'll talk to SISU anytime, anyplace, anywhere (including on the telephone, at least to start with). If SISU say they don't want to talk, then people can decide why for themselves.
