Keepers going down feigning injury (4 Viewers)

How do we stop Keepers pretending to be injured and halting the game so their outfield can all go over to the bench for instructions? We've had it happen to us at least 3 or 4 times this season that I can remember. Surely a change in the rules needs to be put in place. Something like in that situation both teams players have to wait in the centre circle. Any other suggestions?

On that note did anyone else notice Bobby Thomas being an absolute nuisance and invading the Hull huddle? Massive credit to whoever thought that one up. Maybe we should have a couple of players designated to do it and shout over to our bench exactly what's being said, would possibly make teams think twice about doing it.

Isn't there a rule that says players cannot leave the field without the Referee saying so and also Managers or Coaches are not allowed to leave the technical area.

Just needs a Referee to tell them they will get booked if they do so, if a players is already on a yellow, then off you go.

That would stop it.

Yeah, at the minute referee's are powerless to do anything about it hence why clubs are exploiting the loophole.

2 possible fixes for me:

1) Like you said & probably easiest solution, if a keeper goes down 'injured', all other players must stay in either the penalty area or centre circle, whichever is closest.

2) Currently an outfield player receiving treatment has to leave the pitch for 30 seconds to try & prevent this gamesmanship but obviously that's not enforceable with a goalkeeper hence why they do it. Simple solution is the captain should serve the 30 seconds instead (or nominate a teammate).

If a player gets yellow carded for a dive in the penalty box so should a goalkeeper for feigning injury. That would probably put an end to this nonsense.

If a keeper goes down without any reason the fourth official should get the offending teams management team all go and sit in their box till it's resolved, would stop it happening.

Or

As someone else mentioned, get the offending teams players to stand in the center circle.

Either of these would stop the blatant cheating...

You're welcome.

Sky_Blue_Dreamer, Derby thread 6th Nov:

More importantly why don't they surrounded the Derby bench to stop the teamtalk.

i think bobby has the answer.
only next time he should take his 10 mates with him.

Agreed. Genuinely no way of stopping our entire team circling them. Would wind them up silly too

I've been banging on about this for ages.

If a player is injured, the most important thing is their safety.

Get the medical staff on and let the game continue.

I fucking hate it and I’ve seen it loads this season

Spoke to a Leeds fan the other day about it and how annoying it is and their reply was "Oh it happens to us aswell". So I guess it isn't just us, but the fact they kinda just shrugged was what made it even more annoying for me.

Bobby was great for doing what he did today to them, I hope the rest of the team do the same next time aswell, it's pretty much every game now.

Was pritty funny when Bobby Thomas was standing in with their huddle. Just get a couple of subs to go join in next time. Or get some of those water cannons installed that they have at Alton towers on the rubber dinghy rapids.

Just ignore it. Don’t stop play. Carry on and they can sub him at the next break. So done with players going down for minutes at a time like the physio isndoubgbkehole surgery on them and not just rubbing a sponge.

How about 5 minutes, works for me, didn't we have a treatment for the goalie late on though, not that it was tactical, bullshit idea anyway!

Basically if the goalkeeper goes down for treatment then the rule is the player should leave the pitch for 30 seconds! Well the rule should be that the CB leaves the field in place of the GK. That will sort the cheating sods out.

Problem being you can’t 100% say he’s faking it! In reality we know they are but it’s hard to prove that they didn't have a ‘genuine’ injury.
But you can stop teams being coached from the touchline.

Anyone for breaks after 22.5 and 67.5? Time out. I’m not. Just stop players from being coached.

They are currently looking at it. It’s been mentioned that a corner kick will be awarded if the referee deems that the keeper is feigning injury.

Nar, award a penalty that will stop them.
