Kilmarnock FC in a similar situation. (1 Viewer)

Just spoke to a friend of mine whose a Kilmarnock Fan. There is a very similiar vibe to what he's telling me concerning his team. It's not a hedge fund but it worries me none the same that another club is getting raped and the FL aren't doing anything about it. Here's what he had to say on it:

Essentially our chairman bought 80% of the club for a pound. Disbanded the whole board and slowly got rid of every department manager. He takes a rather hefty salary despite never investing a penny and gave his daughter a high paid job to filter more money. He blatantly lies about his actions to mask the whole thing to the press but turned down a 2.5m investment in the club as he wanted 2m for himself. He sacked a very successful manager because the manager tried to stop him signing duds from Nigeria who of course turned out to be ancient. He's endangered our fans by selling home end tickets to rangers and celtic fans and asset stripped us to buggery. He's not maintaining the ground and now it's failong safety tests and he's fallen out with all the sponsors so there's no income. Club's hemorrhaging money yet he pays himself more each year but hides it in dodgy criptic accounts amongst much more.

Not good reading at all. I suggested we fans should start talking and seeing what we can do to make the FL actually do something rather than being tosspots and not doing anything about it! What do you think?

Brian they're doing exactly what we are. Boycotting all home games and only going to away matches.

He was saying that their away support will most probably be the best in the Scottish league, while their home will be the 3rd worst lol.

I think the most important thing here is that we are not alone in this!

Yes, but what are they doing about it?!?!

The Killie fan in question here in peace!

To name but a few of our plans so far:

NAPM - Not a penny more. This extends beyond home games as our club isn't a standard structure and includes the clubs 4* hotel, gym, sports bar, and club shop as well as walk-ups and season tickets at the theatre of pies.

Back the team, change the regime - Coloured in blue and yellow (our traditional away colour). Posters and banners all over the town highlighting that the almightily cretinous dictator must go, yellow and blue t-shirts, beach balls and hooped scarves to add a bit of colour to our bi-weekly football visits at every ground bar RP.

ABG - The more formal tier of proceedings. An amalgamation of everyone from shirt sponsors, scorned hospitality customers, the maker of Britain's best fitba pie, local property developers and a host of sponsors and wealthy fans. This group tried to buy the club with a long-term view to community ownership and fan representation only for the chairman to lie about their intentions then request 2.5m to move on before then claiming this figure wasn't true despite the Sun getting evidence to the contrary.

Staged protests - We've so far cost him his SFA blazer by protesting his very appearance at Hampden as well as protesting his movements around our club on a regular basis. This has gained national media attention on BBC and several national newspapers. There have been mentions of protesting at his business as well.

Going further from my original hastily typed out reasons for our problems with him things have slowly developed over the last few of his eight year dictatorship.

A group of fans paid for a large trailer bearing the sign 98% of killie fans think Johnston is a c**t which lasted around an hour and a half at the local Asda after Johnston demolished the visiting support quantities to our ground by abstaining from the vote to expel Sevco from the league claiming a fans poll had only shown 36% to be against readmitting Rangers. In actuality around 92% of those who responded to his poll voted against a Rangers newco in the SPL and he counted unreturned polls he had posted to lapsed addresses.

His piece de resistance is certainly his impending legal threats to a group called Young Killie for breaching trademark. They are the young supporters group and U14 and below youth teams. He insisted on full financial autonomy over their accounts despite them being self-funded and when they refused and separated from the club as a result of Johnston removing money from their account without permission in the past - he threatened to sue them for retaining a name they have used for over 40 years.

Anyway that's our mess for now - hoping for admin now as it's the only way to get rid of him...he won't leave till he's physically bled the club dry and there's several million of investment pooled in preparation for this event by the Trust, KFCSA and ABG.

At least there's that light at the end of our tunnel. Yours looks pretty grim at the moment, truly hope you pull through. If you need ideas on how to organise anything here look up Sandy Armour of the KFCSA and Baz Richmond of the Killie Trust (both can be found on their relevant organisations website), they've been fronting the pressure for the fans and have really helped get things rolling for us.

Yes truly sad to see that we are not the only ones in this mess sounds like the FL and SFL have the same gutless Agendas they should be ashamed to be our authority when the y won't stand up to the charlatans in our game makes it look even more corrupt.

Yeah, we built it around ten years ago. Was a great idea in theory to add extra revenue streams but the man with the knowledge to run it within the club, a hotelier named Costley, was hounded out the board soon after its completion (pre-MJ). It is of course essentially run by the chairman's daughter.
