Has had his contract ripped up at Sheffield Wednesday, would he be in our range? Would love him back, still think he's a quality keeper.

Kirkland has left Sheffield Wednesday due to to personal reasons, supposedly his wife is seriously ill and I wish her all the best. To be honest i wouldn't want him back even if his wages were right too often injured and I feel our current goalkeepers are more than up to task in League 1.

Kirkland was one of the best and was dissapointing when he left but he is injury prone and the only way I would like to see him back would be on a pay as you play basis. Can't see him agreeing to that

Couldn't see what all the fuss was about with Kirkland. At the time I thought it was good, very good, business.

Too injury prone. Murphy is plenty good enough for L1-so is Chris Dunn IMO!

i really dont get how keepers can be injured and unable to play, unless of course the Cech scenario. Surely only back or shoulder injuries can keep a goalie out?

I don't quite get where you're coming from? Any injury is going to affect the performance of any player, including a keeper. Why would only those injuries be deemed good enough reasons for a keeper to not play?!

Leg injuries would stop you rushing out at a strikers feet, or leaping up to save in the top corner for example.

There IS that! I would also say hand injuries might make it slightly difficult for them too!!

He can't stand up for falling down....

i just mean theres not many injuries that would rule out a keeper. whereas an outfield player can be hindered by a wider range of injuries. just saying

And what is Kirklands main complaint? his back.

I always remember Shearer saying how impressed he was with him, Kirkland was called up to the under 21's and they trained with the senior team, part of this invoved the seniors taking shots, Shearer stated that the ball usually starts flying in the top corner and plenty of goals are normally scored but it was a different story with Kirkland in the nets.
