"Joy told a group of fans she'd never sell Callum unless the price was totally bonkers. No offer anywhere like that has been received.

There's no reason why we can't agree a straightforward and complete deal (including rent, revenues and everything else) ASAP. I never saw what the problem was with this."

Exactly what I replied. Fisher is going on about a temporary deal whilst they build a new stadium. If he wanted to do a deal he would be going in then demanding a permanent deal

I would be delighted if they could come to an agreement for a temporary deal whilst a new stadium was built. That would be us back at the Ricoh for good. If it takes them over a year to come out with just a few pictures how long would it take to get it built?

Exactly. If they can do a temporary deal they can do a permanent deal. The fans want the club at the Ricoh and so does the council and ACL. The only problem appears to be about the cost and terms, but with the Ricoh now sitting there empty and doing nowt and earning nothing at all from the football side of things, then a deal can surely be done.

Sounds like he got told he couldn't do that by she who must be obeyed.

I agree with AL.

It's up to JS to phone ACL and ask for their best deal and come home ASAP. ACL and the council won't care what's happened now it's done. Sisu seem the stumbling block.

Agreed Otis and so: The status quo remains the same as it has for the last (X) years then....?

Wal, do you have this idiots email address? I have a few questions....

No he sends them by carrier pigeon.

I do mate yes, also a phone number. He does seem keen to talk rather than email. I can't make my mind up on him, he seems quite genuine but think he has been bitten by sisu and believes in most of their bullshit too. He told me he was banned from talking to council members so he can't start talks up again. So I have winged an email off to Ann Lucas. See if I can A) see if that is true B) get them talking

Just to update you I have now had an email back from Ann Lucas and she says she is willing to speak to anyone so I have sent Mark Labovitch a reply saying here Mark Ann wants to talk and CC'd Ann in. Worth a go haha!

Comical Wal certainly but unlikely to change anything... unfortunatly Joy (Such an Ironic name) needs to be the one doing the talking. I genuinely believe Tim was happy that he had got the best deal he could from ACL agreed with it and was happy only for Joy to say no we can do better.... and then ending in this situation.

Until she either agrees a deal or at least makes an offer i can't see us going anywhere

Update!

Ann replied with the following: "Dear Lee

Thanks for getting in touch, and for taking the time to check with me to see what the truth of the situation is!

As I’ve made clear in many media interviews over the past day or so, my door is (and always has been) open for discussion about a return to the Ricoh for our football club. I told Joy Seppala this when I met her last November, and it has remained the case ever since. I’m happy to talk to anyone who can move this issue on, but I am also clear that it is Joy who makes the decisions about the football club. During the Judicial Review hearing it was made clear that a rental deal has been agreed by the club, hands were shaken and then the deal was later rejected by Joy.

I hope this clears up any confusion – thank you for passing the message on that I am not refusing to speak to some members of SISU (or the club) – but we need to be clear we are talking to the people who can take decisions on behalf of the club when and if we do so.

I then replied to Ann and cc'd Mark Labovitch: "Hi Ann
Thanks very much for your reply I really appreciate it. Like all City fans I want my club back in Coventry. I have my opinions on who is at fault but at the end of the day unless both parties compromise we will get nowhere.

Mark it looks as if Ann will speak to you.

Mark has now responded with the following: "Dear Ann,
I'd be delighted to meet you. Joy is of course the ultimate decision maker as she funds the club, month in, month out and always has done. However, I think I could give you some useful background and perspectives. I think our friend Rajay Naik tried to arrange for us to meet at Labour Conference last year.

There are of course differing views as to whether a deal was actually struck on the occasion to which you refer - Martin, Chris and I discussed this with Phil in some detail in June last year. Phil - calling upon his experience as a divorce lawyer - put it down to a genuine misunderstanding.

Best wishes.
Mark"

How easy was that! Jesus should have got me involved months ago.

They still have to turn up, of course ;) ANyway, I'll chip in for a doughnut at Costa if it'd help sweeten the deal.

FairPlay to you.

I think Ann is rightly saying its Joy that needs to contact her not ML and I think that's fair comment.

Interesting that ML has been saying he has been trying to talk to the council but getting blocked. Yet it was last year where he tried to speak to Ann. Why didn't he just email or call her?

Only just reading this but fair play to you for at least getting them talking!!!

Just demonstrates how farcical this nonsense has become.
One side willing to help, the club refusing to be helped.
This Joy character seems t b the problem. Maybe she needs
medical help??

I do like AL. Handles herself with an honestly and a musky charm that us Coventrians should be proud of. We could do a lot worse than her I tell you.

Nice work Wal.

Best part is it's giving all parties involved less places to hide which at this moment in time I think is the best any fan can do.

Call me a party pooper but I am not convinced by this thread, maybe I am wrong, but Michael tries talking to ML with this regard for a few weeks and Wal succeeds with a couple of E-Mails?

Surely Ann can't make decisions about a rental deal, that needs to be ACL. So it's not a great point she makes about wanting to speak to the decision maker, when she's not one herself.

CCFC require additional revenues to what had been on offer from ACL, are ACL willing to discuss a sale of these revenues and at what cost? Are Sisu willing to pay for these revenues? These are all the questions that need answering regarding a return to the Ricoh..

I don't think it's about revenues Robo. It's about the Ricoh on the cheap and that's why we will never return To the Ricoh. Ever. Sisu have one goal only. The judge said "there is no plan b" he is right.

I can't see why that would be the case KOK, why the intent to build a new Football, outside of the City, away from your business Customer base over pettiness? It makes no sense whatsoever.

This issue started about rent which I think we can all agree on was too much at £1.2M a season, that was reduced to £150,000 which is justifiable.

However CCFC must gain access to all revenue it generates on a Matchday and I am not against the Club paying for it either, but its essential and before anyone comes back saying "It's all about the pies and pints" yes it is, imagine for instance being at Highfield Road and not benefitting from the revenues that we have been at the Ricoh, it's a huge financial disadvantage!

We'd get far more revenue at the Ricoh compared to Northampton, even without food, car park etc, so it can't only be about revenue. Fisher must be a liar or a fool. Or both.

But that isn't justifiable.. That's just accepting something.. Why shouldn't the Club insist on the revenues it generates, of course it should pay for these but it's essential for the Club as any revenue I am sure would be greatly appreciated?

Robo you do talk a lot of sense and god knows like me we have ccfc at heart. However our owners do not. The new stadium first of all will never happen 100% as there are many numerous reasons for this not to happen. To list a few. Who would fund the 20mil required when we can't even afford to keep BLair Adams? Who would go when by the time 90% would of gone? There is a good stadium is Coventry already which JS called absurb to build another? Many other reasons so a new stadium will never happen and no surprise we have no details on it. That's not surprising.

The rent of 1.3 was far too high yes we all agree even ACL agree but it was a legal contract and only 5-10% of the clubs turnover. Sisu knew the deal when they signed up in 2007. Yes FFP wasn't in then but it was known years in advance and something should of been done sooner. You correctly say the rent was offered at 150k for 10 years on the Eve of liquidation last year that's a 90% rent reduction. Wow what a gift. That's cheaper than Northampton which leads me to my next point and if it is all about f and b then Northampton isn't the answer. Earning a lot less from major revenues like ticket sales to smaller revenues like f and b. TF couldn't answer it yesterday in the radio when asked about Northampon to the Ricoh and food and beverage. He was speechless. Sure you heard it. He was speechless as it makes no sense.

The judge said and it is well known for a long time now and I quote "sisu have badly mismanaged Coventry city for a long time and lost in the region of 50mil and the only probable way to get this back was acquiring the Ricoh arena cheaply and selling on for a profit. The rent strike put ACL hard up and ccfc were intent on always moving out"

It's black and white Robo, it's never been about f and b or rent. It's about one thing.... A return on their investment. That was the only plausible way to get it back and now it's failed all ends up. Sisu now only have 2 options. Sell all assets and liquadate or build a new stadium. Option 2 is not really an option. So it's option 1 and you will see Blair Adams leave and Ian foster and Baker and Wilson will be next. Certain.
