Lack of goals is going to cost us... (1 Viewer)

I was more on about the strikers especially Simms and the fact that Wright is our top goalscorer despite being out since November.

Interesting Wrights hat trick brings his tally to ten!

Could end up on 20 goals at this rate. Still have 11 games to go, 2 of them a good chance against Sunderland 😂

His mpg ratio is way ahead of everyone else in the league. I guess if we fail to go up he'll likely be off. That's a then issue though, for now, we keep calm and carry on.

Personally I think it would take a big offer from a biggish club for it to happen. The only reason he isn't with the USA squad is because he is coming back from injury. He is under contract and playing in front of a full stadium for a club going places.

If he has settled here why would he want to leave?

It's definitely not a lack of a 20 goal a season striker that's costing us.

If Gyokeres got injured in the playoff season we'd have been fucked. Wright gets injured this season and we win 9/10.

It's giving away awful goals that's the issue.
Agreed, If you have a 20+ goal a season striker, and he gets injured or loses form at this stage of the season, you're really struggling.

Also, if you only have 1 goal threat in the team it's far easier to deal with that threat, man mark or put 2 players on him, etc.
For me, our biggest strength this season has been our goal threat from all areas.
Torp from midfield, Thomas at set pieces, etc etc.

Norwich are a good example, they have an outstanding striker (sargent) but if he doesn't score or have a good game, they struggle. (Apart from when we visit of course)
