Lack of publicity to our plight IN COVENTRY (1 Viewer)

exactly. the thought that the plug can be pulled on the club at any time is frankly pathetic

Which is why I won't be grateful for third tier status and can't comprehend why anybody would be.

So what are we going to do about it?

There are threads on here that talk about apathy, posters that say they have given up, posters that seem to get more pleasure in slagging off their fellow fans than actually doing something positive, others that seem to get pleasure from just creating friction between fans just for the fun of it.

Are we just going to sit back and accept that we are powerless, ineffective, that we have no say in what's happening to our club? I hear people say that football is all about the fans, that owners come and go but the fans remain, that the fans are the lifeblood of the club. Those are all statements that I can agree with and understand but just saying them is pointless unless WE do something about it.

So don't just sit there waiting for 'someone' to do something about it, we have the power to to change things if we work together.

United we stand, divided we fall ..... and so will OUR club.

Get out there and spread the message and we might just change things but what is certain that if we just sit back and do nothing then we deserve everything we will get...nothing.

I have recently been made aware about an opportunity to explain our plight at Chelsea (before the Brentford game) but as far as know we have less than 20,000 signatures on this from a city of over 300,000.. The media will have a field day and the City of Coventry will be proven to be nothing more than what Coventry is stereotypically seen to be.

Michael CCFC - what are the Coventry publicity strategies? surely the ringroad, banners, train station KCIC (am happy to help out) but I think we need to be seen to exploit our own before we start begging others and 16,000 out of a city of 300000 is woeful and indicates city apathetic to football. Has everyone on here press-ganged their family to sign this? It really does worry me especially considering the gmkonline crew who think everything is a massive joke. It will get worse before it gets better but publicity wise we should be doing better than this..

I don't know the answer and will help out, but just some potential criticism which may be levied our way..#

All offers of help very welcome! Things you can do are -

Print off copies of the poster below and put them in you car and house window, at work, pubs, shops and anywhere else you can think of.
Keep an eye on the official petition thread for things like the leafleting we did on Saturday and more events will be publicised.
Phone/text/email local and national phone ins.
Ask journos to cover the story.
Write to local and national newspapers.
Tweet celebs/big names and ask them to sign and RT.
Get on other clubs' fans forums and ask them for support.

And most importantly...keep nagging everyone you know to sign it.

Things like leafleting on Saturday show, unlike on here (!), huge numbers of people don't have detailed knowledge of what's going on with the City and don't know about the petition at all. With no budget for advertising, word of mouth is critical.
