It's the urban area, the Manchester figure is the population of Greater Manchester roughly

Yeah, Manchester itself is only about 500,000. Smaller than Leeds.

Yeah, I think Newcastle isn’t that big.

First time I’ve seen Pompey and Southampton grouped together. Id say you may as well throw Cov in with Brum on this basis.

The City of Leeds is far more populous than Manchester, I'm sure it's the 3rd English city behind London and Birmingham
