Does Joe Edwards not know how to set up a defence? How about the Head Coach?
I thought Dennis Lawrence was the First Team Coach but maybe you know better.

My Burnley supporting-flatmate supposedly had Burnely ITK info and from his end the interest was non-existent. His opinion was that they had plenty of CBs that they didn’t need him.
The ITK info for Grimes was pretty last minute so it may not have been untrue at the time.

Last season until 6 games to go we had the leagues 5th best defence .
This season in recent weeks we've stopped leaking so many goals (SAME PLAYERS )
We've decided to play a ridiculous high line against 2 sides better than us and we've made mistakes and struggled .
There aren't many defenders in this league that can play that high against Leeds and not be punished

You do have to wonder whether last season was a bit of an anomaly. It would've helped that we were much much more clinical in front of goal being able to put games to bed, plus having Sheaf on form.
I'm sure you go to games and must see the players struggle with the basics and individually are horrendously error prone. Couple that with poor positioning and lack of communication between the back line has been a theme all season and it's genuinely the same chances we concede. You can't honestly be that entitled to believe these things aren't being drilled into them in the training ground by the coaching staff.
Granted it's improved in recent weeks but I'd suggest Dovin has played a bigger part of that, not the defence.
I agree re. the high line as you need to have good centre backs to pull it off. We don't particularly. It's a high-risk high-reward system and we're more likely to be on the wrong end of that. The problem is sometimes the defence does actually on the odd occasion show it can be competent. Consistency is a huge problem but again that reverts back to them just not being good enough.

There’s sometimes a tendency to oversimplify issues.
It’s taken 2 games against top opposition for people to turn on the defenders again. Ipswich and Leeds have Championship dream teams and at the end of the day, we’re missing our 2 best players and EMC. Both games, we concede early goals and because we’re chasing the game, the result snowballs.
Individually, the defenders are decent players and there’s been multiple times this season where we weren’t winning the ball higher up the pitch.
Sheffield Wednesday is a big game and where we need to get back to picking up points. I’m not fussed that we’re out of the cup now and allows us to focus on the league.
