They keep trying him because we have to pay him and occasionally they decide he's worth a shot, but soon realise it was a mistake. In fact you could use teh exact same argument to prove the point that not one manager in five or six has seeen enough in him to give that sustained number one start through the middle striker as a regular.

I can think of no other city player in recent memory where fans have found so many excuses for him not delivering what he is handsomely rewarded to do. Successive managers who work with the guy day in and day out have all for their own reasons decided that he didnt merit a place in the team they picked. Yet the guy is so hard done by because poor Freddy just hasnt been given a chance - no he has been given lots of chances here, at Wolves and for Wales and yet here we are.

It must be tough being paid so well for doing something he loves. Yes he has ability but he doesnt have the passion for the club or the application to do his job. Trouble is with him that when the going gets tough he goes and sulks, decides that he is hard done by. Now i am content that others see it differently, i would love to be proven wrong because that would be good for the team (which is by the way the important thing not Freddy) but i wont be holding my breath. As for forming a devastating partnership wioth Juke in your dreams, you have to be prepared to gamble, work and read your strike partner, not wait for the flick on to happen then run half heartedly just to make it look good. THREE years and still waiting for our "star" striker to make a consistent impression!

In addition he is likely to be out until October at least so wont have the fitness or matches under his belt to be match fit for at least a month after that. Sorry but I cant look at him through Freddy tinted glasses - he has disappointed. Plenty of players play out of position and succeed, plenty of wide players score more goals than him (McSheffery?) At a time that this club has struggled badly financially he has taken his money for under achieving. Yes he has been affected by managers decisions/bad times but so are all players, it is how the player reacts to those bad times that defines their qualities and he in my estimation has been found wanting

My opinion to which I am entitled and is no less valid than anyone elses.

He will be the laziest, most frustrating player for months and then he'll turn out and score a hatrick... Twice! Then he'll get injured and then the cycle repeats! Bored!

I would have got rid two years ago, but unfortunately we're paying him a kings ransom and you can only off-load if someone else wants him. I doubt they're queueing up.

Unfortunately Freddy is a player i really wish wasnt at the club - his undoubted talent means he'll be picked and relied upon but time and time again he'll let us down with a lack of application, workrate and passion.

People talk about intelligent footballers and for me Freddy is the opposite - never gets himself in the right positions and doesnt work defenders and give them a hard time (see Juke for how it should be done).

Last chance saloon for him now - needs to be working his balls off to get himself a new deal anywhere as on the last 3 years he'd be lucky to stay in this division.

Freddie would easily get 20 goals a season if he was played in his position consistantly, it annoys me that he gets slated yet everybody loved Andy Morrell and the exact same thing happened to him and Robbie Simpson, both strikers that were hard done by yet again from our previous retard managers, get off his back let him play his game and watch you all start changing your opinion

I think its fair to say!!!
that by and large, Freddy Eastwood has enjoyed fair and loyal support from the majority of fans, despite the undeniable fact that he has been a goal scoring Flop, here and at his former club Wolves, where he gets his cult figure status from, I just can't understand.
If any of us produced such low productivity, for such high wages, I should imagine it would be met with rather more than unkind words.

i agree, freddie has never been singled out in the past like Best, Bellemy etc. Fans have been very patient with him over the years but now this has run thin.

I find it strange that this arguement comes up only when folk think we are short of attacking options. There was never a peep out of people when King was here keeping Freddy out of the side..... why ? because King was the better option and player. Nor would there be much support for playing him upfront on his own like Juke - simply does not have the application to work that hard. In four years he has not shone for us or wolves in the championship, I dont think you can lay that at the door of each and every manager - the common factor is Freddy, he has to look at himself.

You can make stats say all sorts of things if you want to - so here are some skewed/biased stats
2010/11 Freddy 29 appearances 46 shots 6 goals 1 assist
2010/11 Turner 14 appearances 5 shots 4 goals 0 assists
perhaps Turner should be playing up front with a goal scoring ratio like that :facepalm:

It isnt about the position it is about how the player applies themself. There have been plenty of players who score more from wide than Feddy...... he has had plenty of opportunities to score and didnt.... and he wasnt that instrumental in helping others to score.

Not sure there is significant bad feeling to the guy .......... simply the fans expect to get our money worth from the guy and we dont! Many of us feel let down by the guy
