Leeds make bid for Clingan (1 Viewer)

Obviously, this would be a disastrous move, seeing as we'd be stripped to Conor Thomas and Deegan in our central midfield- and if either of them were to get injured...

Also, Sammy's been the engine room of our side for the last two seasons, the one guy in the current set-up who literally can create something out of nothing. Our poor runs of form under both Coleman and Boothroyd all coincided with Sammy being injured...I really dread to think what'll happen if he's sold!

And I'm gonna need a name change too! :D

Do you you remember the Chairman stating if anyone wanted a refund then they could have one before the new season started. Well if you really want to make a stance then oprganise a day where a serious number turn up to do just that. I am sure Hoffmans telegraph would be delighted to splash it across about four pages.

Its not something I have ever considered but I have to say if we sell Clingan and Juke then I just don't know anymore...... its £300 I could do a lot more with that would make me happy then go up there and feel totally miserable watching a side of kids gets battered all over the park :-(

I'm afraid Ben Turner will be the next to leave. Putting two and two together and probably coming up with 104 but Brum just sold Johnson to wolves, need a new centre half and Ben is a brummie lad. God I'm in a good mood today aren't I!

Gave a heads up about turner and blues on the forum months ago as i go a decent lead on it. Was told i was a negative etc! I dont think anyone bar the ball boys are nailed on to be here at the start of the season and they will need to play!

sadly i didnt think we would be offered anything more that £1M for him. I just hope he doesnt go, or more to the point that we dont sell him.

How about we all club together and offer SISU £50 cash for Clingan, I'm sure they would accept it. then we loan him back direct to AT.

I'm sure we can find a way round the 3rd part ownership issue's..

This is first season I've been dreading the start of.. its nothing but doom and gloom ..

This would be suicidal if Clingan left, Cranie would have to play midfield!

Saying that, they have only enquired about him, no bid yet...

SISU will take any offer above 500K, It's not being negative its being realistic with what we've put up with from SISU since they've been involved. There is no ambition from them on the pitch and I do really feel for Andy Thorn because it's his first season as a manager and he hasn't been given a chance to stamp his mark or given the financial muscle to convince players to stay let alone join the club. It'd only be common sense for them to come out and say our captain and best midfield player - a position were struggling with- isn't for sale. As for Leeds Utd they are contenders this year as they were last year and I'm sure any one playing in a team tipped for relegation would seriously consider an invitation with one year left on his contract.

Just out of interest does the player have a say in it? I wouldn't blame him as it would be a good move for him!

I think usually if the clubs agree a fee then the player gets to talk to the new club.

I can't see them turning down the offer of money for Sammy to go, Brody's transparency and communication has gone quiet lately too.

I don't think AT can even come out and say he isn't for sale as the board would just sell him anyway.

no bid has been made, we don't know he will be sold. AT said juke isn't going i am sure clingan will be held onto aswell, so why the doom and gloom?
Just beacuse they like him doesn't mean anything, name 1 player we actually sold this summer that was under contract and was wanted by the club................excactly none, zip, zero. Lets not get carried away, footie starts again tomorrow then we will have something factual to discuss.

I might offer £10 for Freddie Eastwood, my sunday team could do with a new striker. I'll even let him park his caravan on my drive. I genuinely think SISU would accept the bid lol!

Wasnt there a thread a month ago saying Juke was going to Southampton and guess what nothing happened... people beleive what they want to beleive be it transfer rumours or hot air from potential new owners.

Oh joy. I try to stay positive no matter what, but I'm really starting to get a feeling we're in big trouble. I hope this rumour is just that - a rumour.

Pass me the revolver Matron, I'm going for a walk in the woods.

Why has the interest/enquiry been made public? If that is all it is, surely it is in Leeds interest to keep a lid on it?

Does this mean that.......

Leeds want the player to know, so as to unsettle him?

Or

Sisu want to start a bidding war?

Or

Sisu want to scare the hoff into acting quickly, to get themselves a better deal?

Someone has released confidential information, for a reason......it does not look good.

Sisu will take whatever they can get

Leeds fan here.

Just wanted to say I feel your pain on this one; there's a good chance we're losing Gradel.

You've a couple of reasons to be cheerful though

Leeds tend to keep their dealings as quiet as possible. Those that come out often don't go through.

To all of you who think he's moving for more money, I've got 2 words for you: Ken Bates.

Chill out & best of luck next season.

alright pal thanks for posting. I suppose what you say is true about when it's public knowledge it doesn't happen. It's always the same for us when it comes to incoming players!

Bloody hell, you'll be meeting up again with Sutton United sooner than you think... in their league at this rate :D

No, what is more likely to happen is that you can look forward to a derby with Hinckley United or even Market Harborough Town FC - Majority of your stadium would then be turned into a rehabilitation unit for Leicester fans.

I expect it to get worse before these clowns go they have already said they will sell players if need be to fund the monthly losses.
Oh sorry I forgot the Tossers have said Sisu will continue to fund the club well I haven't seen much of that to date !!!!!
They are leaches with no ambition and will only let go of the club when theres nothing left.
We need to force them out now !!!!!!!!!
DON'T BUY SEASON TICKETS OR MERCHANDISE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue:

what a load of bollox SISU, you can't find any investors so you're trying it on with the only group who have shown an interest.Who the fu*k would invest in a business losing 500,000 a month, with no assets what so ever, and who don't even own any part of the stadium, and even don't own the training ground.
The maddest tycoon in the world would'nt invest a penny, how will he ever get a return for his money with a squad losing most of its better players, and none coming in to replace them.Do they think we will get to the Prem on a squad of 18 and most of them average, at best league one players.
The ONLY way to make big money in English football is to be in the Prem, and even the most optomistic investor in the world would say, that to get to the Prem, do what Coventry City are doing.

That's a brilliant idea. Queues of fans demanding refunds on the front of the CET - and on Skysports etc would certainly put our point across.

It would make sisu's position impossible especially with taking out loans on future ticket sales.
I am certain they will sell any player of value before they put the club into admin. They should take Hoffs offer but I see it getting very ugly. At the end of the day they bought the club for nothing they were nieve to think this would work on a shoestring budget. Also if they have lost money its there own fault and only they are responsible.

From the CET
COVENTRY CITY could be willing to sell Sammy Clingan - rather than risk him leaving the club on a free next summer, according to national reports.

Leeds United have reportedly made an enquiry for the Sky Blues captain as they look to bolster their squad for a Premier League promotion push.

And Sky Sports reports that City may be tempted into a deal for the Northern Ireland international rather than face losing another star player on a Bosman free.

The Sky Blues have seen Marlon King and Keiren Westwood leave the Ricoh Arena for nothing this summer after their contracts expired

Well if Sky said we are then we must be! Another depressing article from the Hoffman Times... sorry Coventry Telegraph, aimed at making SISU look bad.
