'bombing him out'

Why must everything be dramatised so much?

Collins has been bombed out. Dovin has not.
Quoting a supposed ITK above

Overreaction here, it's a perfectly logical thing to do,protect the asset's and when to pull and when to Push them on, now don't tell me Mason Clark's a better option than wright,so impact sub it is!

Worth remembering that Robins was criticised for NOT changing the team in the last game. The better performances in the two prior games there were questions about the changes he'd made for those as well. He can't really win with some on here.

Dropping a keeper who has conceded a goal every game?

MR Out.

I’m clearly being flippant, and admittedly it’s an odd choice, but the emotions on this forum are mental.

Wilson has impressed in the games he's played this season but there's a reason why both him and Collins lost their place.

He can't win full stop at the minute. Let's hope that changes today.

Very small sample size of course but he's below the league average for shot stopping and right near the bottom for claiming crosses.

I wouldn't be dropping him but he hasn't been great so far. He will be back in soon I'm sure and will be a cracking keeper in time.
Maybe if you have a few million to spend, goalkeeper is the last position you do it for.

You can't have your cake and eat it, complain about results and performances but then complain about changes
It's always something though with Robins atm. Looks like he's finally caving in and playing the CB partnership that I think most would agree is our best... but now he's bringing Wilson back in! Why?
I don't see the point, Dovin hasn't really done anything wrong and Wilson, well, he's Wilson.

The first goal last week perhaps? We had a queue of players to clear it and maybe all they needed was a shout from the keeper instead of the panic that ensued

Not sure Wilson is the answer to any question we might have atm. When he came in for Collins dubiously last season he was an absolute disaster and it seemed to have a detrimental effect on Collins too, who was significantly worse when he came back into the side.
I think his management of keepers has been very poor actually.

I don't disagree, though I'm one the only people who seemed to rate Collins. Plenty on here called for a new keeper to be signed. That said, it's really early days for Dovin and he's a young keeper, it's not a massive issue if he gets pulled out to have a reset.

It's not no, but Wilson... ugh, can't we just move past him? He's shite.
I didn't mind Collins either btw, apart from the end to the season, which as I mentioned I think was down to poor management.

There's a correlation between the reaction to Dovin, and the dislike of Wilson.

Truth be told, Dovin hasn't done anything that makes me go 'wow, he's much better than Wilson'. He's been alright, certainly not outstanding. The goals he has conceded may not have been howlers, but he still hasn't stopped them. I'm genuinely not surprised he's been dropped.

I do understand the argument about how much he has cost. To spend that much money on a keeper, should we be expecting more at this stage? He is still young so maybe not, but if MR thinks Wilson will make more impact then I get it. I'm more concerened about the money sitting on the bench in other players, particularly Kitching. I think we need him, and it sounds reassuring that he's probably in the team today.

Anyway, for what it's worth I think we can get something in this match. Classic CCFC, and we love it.

dovins Done nothing wrong yet, hasn’t made some of the howlers we know Wilson and Collins have got in them, pressures always going to be on the defence when we’re not taking our chances, apart from Swansea we should have been ahead in most of our games, totally different results then, got that feeling though today we’ll nick a win

I like the way that if Robins thinks change is needed then he doesn’t give a toss about how much someone cost.

And why is Wilson getting so much flak? It’s all very well saying he’s shite and this & that, but what’s he actually done wrong on the pitch so far this season?

Not expecting a win and won't be on here later if we lose either 🙃

if we go by previous seasons then it’s gonna get worse before it gets better, it’s usually about November we start picking up.

having said that, heart over head- we’re gonna win 2-1

Didn't keep Spurs out?

Hope there’s not going to be a total meltdown if we do lose today, this is a tough game no matter how we’ve been playing, players just need to show more than they did Saturday, if we’re saying the same things after the sheff weds game then I’d be a bit more worried

Honestly will be happy as long as we don’t get battered. My concern is a total confidence collapse and infighting from that not that we suddenly become world beaters.

we could win 4-0 and there would still be people having meltdowns, talking about ‘concerns’ and singling people out for the ‘get rid’ treatment

Personnel might need changing sure, the problem has been moving the ball too slowly, players not moving off the ball enough, poor decision making in the final third etc.

If we ship 3 or 4 does that mean we change defence again?

Exactly, we’ve been lucky,2 previous seasons have been great, wembley twice, usual slow start and everyone’s losing it, we were top of the league 21 season after 9 games, won 6 drew 1 lost 2, we finished 12th,

Dovin will be the long term number one imo but don't think its the worse decision to take him out the team for a few matches.

If it’s a confidence & mental thing going on then you can see why Wilson might be better suited. Elland Road isn’t noted for its gentle & sympathetic nature is it.
