Leigh Jenkinson or Tommy Hutchison ? (1 Viewer)

I know Hutch is revered on here, but I was always on my seat's edge awaiting the Leigh Jenkinson
step over which used to leave full backs slightly confused. Thoughts ?

Having considered the conundrum I have decided on Jenkinson, who must be in his mid forties against the best player ever to wear Sky Blue, who must be approaching 70.

This made me laugh !! - I remember at a legends game a few years back a young lad asking me who Tommy Hutchison was? - when I got my breath back , I simply said the greatest player I have ever seen play for us. I know we all have our opinions and rightly so, many would go for Big C, Dennis Mortimer, my old man would be split between George Hudson and Bill Glazier, Speedo, Keane, McAllister, etc etc, we have seen some quite brilliant players play in sky blue, as for good old Leigh, well he played for us I guess !!!

My thoughts are obviously that both of them are City legends*,

As are all Coventry City players.

My dog could skin both and bite the legs of Norman Hunter in his prime. Then cock his leg on the ball before scoring!

Tommy Hutchison destroyed defences. I saw him beat numerous Arsenal defenders at Highbury and roll the ball into the net from the half way line. I'm sorry by Leigh Jenkinson was not of the same level.....or even near it!

Hutch was the best player I've ever seen in a city shirt. I must have seen Leigh Jenkinson many times and I can't remember anything about him, not even what he looked like. .

...but you're from the 'Hutch on the wing, Stein in the middle' era - surely you must have been awed by Leigh's steppy overs ?

Jenkinon another to throw on the dung heap with that ludicrous step over of his.
Think I've seen Haynes trying to resurrect this on occasions as well.

Tommy Hutch all the way! I know most of us older buggers will probably favour him, but honestly, I wish some of our younger viewers on here could have seen him play! The man was a footballing genius! I would even go so far as to say he was even better than the great George Best, and that's saying something!

Watched Vity for 56 years and have a good memory of just about all who have played for us and without a shadow of doubt Leigh Jenkinson is pound for pound the worst player I’ve see don our shirt, just what Bobby Gould saw in him heaven knows, he should be asked, cost £350000 too at a time when that was big money and we had little of it. Gouldie loves to tell his Stuart Pearce story but very quiet on Jenkinson !

Remember Peter Barnes falling over his own feet trying to do a stepover - past his best when we signed him. Then Big Ron took him to Utd!!
