He scores goals in this league, that's proven at pretty Mich every club hes played at in this league, including last season in a poor bury side.

The article seems to rule it out.

1) They already turned down two offers of cash
2) The only way we could afford him is if Bury paid off his contract and we took him on a free.

How's that going to happen then? Are Bury stupid?

As we found - if Leon wants to leave he leaves. He will just go into a grey big sulk until he gets his way.

If we want him and he wants to come that's it.

He's the only ex player I'd be interested in.

If a player has a contract they don't have to agree to be sold. So Bury will have to pay him until his contract ends, he signs for someone else or agrees to cancel his contract. And if they can't afford his wages and he refuses to sign for another club you would think that they would sort things out quite quickly.

I would have him back. This is his level. He was a great help for Wilson. And if we could put someone decent with him we would have a chance of having a good season.

You can't kick Jim O'Brien out for being a 'bad influence', then sign Leon Clarke.

It's a simple no for me.

Why not?

JOB had a go at younger players frequently. Clarke helped bring on Wilson a lot. But because Clarke was sold he is crap? JOB was given away.

Can't see him coming back, if Bury have two bids on the table they aren't going to pay him off to allow him to come here.

As for the argument that Clarke will force Bury to let him join only Coventry, Clarke will go to whoever matches his wage demands and pays him the biggest signing on fee, it's the way he's done things for his whole career.

I'd definitely welcome him back though.

Someone connected tothe club has told me that we're pretty close to signing Leon in the next few days. I'll wait until its announced that he's signed for someone else!

Is Clarke a bad influence? Seemed fine until he wanted to leave. And he wasn't influencing anyone else to leave.
Plus even if he was, which I don't think he was, there are different types of bad influences anyway. As astute above has said.

Yes he scores goals. But his attitude and application is unpredictable. Second time around is rarely as good as the first.

All he would do is feign injury and not play for a few games to get his way... Wait a minute Deja-Vu.
