The mirror says...

'New Coventry boss Steven Pressley faces an early major battle to keep star striker Leon Clarke.
Clarke has already hit nine goals to fuel City's League One play-off big since joining in January from Charlton.
But Sheffield United are now keen to take him on loan from the Sky Blues'

Why would we let him go...on loan!?

I didn't think we could buy/sell or loan in/out under a transfer embargo?

This is probably bollocks

Don't think it is.

But still a strange story.

Only conclusion I could come to if it did happen to be true is that Clarke is unhappy here.

What a load of crap. Why would we let a player go (whilst probably paying all his wages) to a rival club?
And we're under an embargo...
Good journalism there!

Do they get any cash for a loan deal?

Im guessing they will have a say, im sure it was similar when Cardiff tried to sign Marlon back in the day under similar situation and im sure that was his agent at the time trying to force that deal through!

The whole thing does seem very odd.

Why indeed would we loan him now at this stage of the season?

Surely if we were to let him go now that would be CCFC giving up on this season.

Emergency loan window is open until 28th March - under embargo we can let players go out (sell players, loan players out) we cannot bring players in.
Hard to see any truth in this rumour especially as according to another thread Leon has a broken leg!!!! ;)

Trouble is, if he isn't in the squad today people will have a case to justify both stories.

That's true. Wait for the histiria if he ain't on the team sheet! Could be he might hav a slight knock or sickness and some journalists found out, and are now blowing it out of all proportion.

FFS what spotty kid who has never watched football and probably never left London has dreamed up this space filler.

Editor: Google league top scorer and link them to one of the top 2.
