The text a sub thing was innovative giving legs to audience participation, Which is now prevalent across media.
It would certainly have given vent to matchread emotions displayed on here .
Probably the wrong vehicle to expand it into.
But there must have been more workable ideas than that he could've come up with.
Why stop a text a sub? Why not text a team and the starting line-up is the players who get the most votes and the manager has to utilise those players. If we pick 5 strikers and no keeper, fuck it, he's got to deal with it. Have to link it to some sort of membership scheme to largely stop it being infiltrated by opposition fans picked our U12 centre half to play.
Or why not have a special membership package/raffle where the winner gets to be manager for that game? Picks the team/tactics/subs etc. Got to be some revenue in that.
Left-field ideas are a piece of piss. The trick is having the discipline to analyse your thoughts and being able to admit "that's actually quite stupid" before you open your gob. At least bring it up in a brainstorming session first
No he wasn't the league was already established and he decided to plunder the clubs assets on a half arsed scheme which as with pretty much everything else he did as Chairman end up going badly wrong. He never actually seemed that interested in the club then but to use it is a experiment for his madcap ideas

Yeah. It was a money making idea that got spun as a “lol manager will have to make stupid subs” thing for the clicks and memes on here. I’m not saying it was great, but coming from a bunch of people who used to happily pay £x/min calling up TeamTalk it’s hardly outside the realms of possibility.
Why let Nick get all that sweet bollocks talking cash? (I know there’s no cash in this site)
