I don't disagree really but the fact you would "get violent" if someoneDefending calling people 'scabs' is just about the stupidest thing I've seen here in a very, very long time. I'm a peaceful man for the most part, but anyone who called me that might be on the end of something a bit more direct than an unpleasant name. I doubt I'd be the only one who felt that way - can you see where this is heading?
People have got every right to go to the game without being abused. It's embarassing, stupid and self-defeating to advocate, support or defend it happening. Splitting the fans in this way is just about the daftest thing I've ever heard of, and anyone who thinks it's acceptable is both an idiot and a menace. I do hope that's not too beastly for you.
It undermines the people who do great work organising fan groups and devote many hours of their lives to our club. They deserve our support: not for some misguided, mouthy bloke on Twitter distracting from their arguments by being inflammatory.Good man Curtis, although I don't think you really owed anyone an apology as there are no right answers to any of this unfortunately.
I made the tweet, and the subsequent explanation for why I used the term, and have deleted the tweet.
The reason I have deleted the tweet is that it undermines the collective action of fans and is needlessly divisive. If I had known it would cause such offence I would not have posted it. The more united we are, the more effective our protests will be.
So I reiterate my apologies on this forum too. I hope that fans support the protests as much as possible.
(I was also a scab - I went to Northampton once. So not only was I needlessly divisive, but also a hypocrite).
You shouldn't have put it in the first place
OK not so young but fair play coming on here and putting himself on the firing line.
Any support for a protest against the owners is going to struggle to get any legs on here, its even cited by a Les Reid as the place to go and show support for SISU in their gallant crusade against the dark forces lining up against them.
Thing is, it is too late for a boycott of merchandise as people have already bought it... If people want to buy shirts they will at the start of the season etc.
The action should be things to bring people together
I defend his right to an opinion. Same as you have the right to one, as I have said before 1 fan young fan, not the best at putting over his point.
You sound quite hard so I sure he will not call you a name.
I think the lad is right, if you attend, you're just turning your back on fellow CCFC supporters trying to do something, you may aswell walk past them whilst they protest with you middle finger up in the air...
I'll await the abuse...
Roll around in dog shit, or unite as a fanbase against the owners outside the ground. Trust you to put a shite analogy in with it Nick. I agree with that lad, that's my opinion. So if some city fans said they wanted to all go and roll around in dog shit in the park as a protest everybody should join them?
Let's not turn this into an actual divided thread ay.
That is absolutely right and the merchandise point can also be said for season ticket holders too. Even if nobody turned up the stats would still show a gate of 5500 - or what ever the amount of season tickets holders there are - so it wouldn't be a talking point to someone in any other part of the country who just happens to glance at the gate for that particular game, they would just think it was a really low turn-out.
I'm all for some form of protest but for season ticket holders to boycott a game would be akin to paying for a day at the races and then just sitting in the bookies instead.
Because of the issue of season ticket holders having already paid for the game it may be a better idea to boycott just the first half instead. The normal pre-match rituals could still be observed and just extended. Fans could stay in the pub or the Casino or maybe in the concourse and take their seats for the second half. That way if the team are in need of some vocal support for the last 45 minutes we would be there to help them along.
Actions of a show of strength should be just that -solidarity - but as the OP suggests there will be a division rather than a solid amalgamation.
Just a thought.

Exactly what I'm trying to say Nick. Where were the boycotters pre season when Mogga was Messiah and we were going to get our much sought after top 6 finish? Now we're doing awful and going nowhere their trying to get everyone else to boycott. Just because they pay on the gate to games they pick and choose. If they had made arrangements like this pre season, then it could've worked. But joy seppala has already taken my ticket money. She doesn't give two fucks if I'm sat in my seat or stood by the JH statueThing is, it is too late for a boycott of merchandise as people have already bought it... Never gonna happen because when Chelsea come to town at least 1/2 of the crowd is made up of 'Chelsea fans' anywayThe only problem with the protest is that as a season ticket holder they have my money already for that game, a total boycott of the checkatrade game might have been better but I guess less hard hitting. Maybe a boycott in the third round if the fa cup if we get a big draw:woot:

Yes but that could be uniting fans against the owners in the park.
It is literally a shite analogy, well pointed out
If there are threads like this about it, it isn't uniting as a fanbase is it. It is "everybody agree with me to be united".
It was 1 lad who chose the wrong word, and it's had a forum of grown men spitting dummy's out.
Has SBT released a statement yet about the meeting?
Just so you know, I would partake in any form of protest whether inside the ground or out, but only if the fans agree with each other on it.
Some comments in this thread proves that it's impossible to do so.
It's in the past, maybe move on?Maybe it is because people on here remember about Sixfields and all of the shit then?
It's in the past, maybe move on?
Am I missing a divide there? Is it the original posts?Just to show that this divide isn't just one way...
So what are you saying then? I don't get your point? Either way no matter what people choose, there will be shit?Yes, move on to the same sort of shit. It is called learning from the past isn't it?
Sadly my sentiments too. I really have no idea what we can do that will make any difference because SISU won't even bat an eye-lid.Joy seppala has already taken my ticket money. She doesn't give two fucks if I'm sat in my seat or stood by the JH statue
