Hes right though, no one else will have done that :p

In all seriousness Indont think Kelly is up to this level and I don’t think it’s coincidence that it’s only after we play poor teams that people come on raving about him. His passing is atrocious as is his composure and we need better if we’re to progress.

His value to us this season is that he provides protection for our central defenders and with the exception of Ostigard, they're vulnerable at this level. I still believe that Sheaf could easily become the player we need to fill that role. His positional sense, tackling and distribution is good, just needs to learn to not get caught in possession.

He battles well and has good mentality but I agree this should be his final year.

All depends on how many positions we can upgrade in 1 window tho. If he is 4th or 5th choice midfielder and ok with that next year I won't cry about keeping him

Yeah there’s a lot across the pitch like that really.

Sheaf or James, but I think it’s a sticking plaster over the fact that our back line need so much protection. I’ve gone on about this before but a better back three and GK and the rest of the team can be more attacking focused.

Sheaf won’t be here I don’t think
Your forgetting he’s still a young player, playing his first season at this level, in a new formation, in front of a poor defence, and with no pace up front, and little movement around him.
He’s done ok considering all the above, And will get better. He will offer cover for James, Hamer and Kelly and will learn from all of them.
In my opinion he will be signed, and it’s Allen and Shipley who should be moved on.

So from 19 starts we've achieved 21 results, back to the drawing board mate

haha, my brother just sent a text taking the piss. 7, 7, 5 I think. Done in a rush. My points the same though

He’s not getting any younger and is injury prone, just saying many don’t fully appreciate what he does for the team when he does play (and the results back it up...even if my addition is a bit wonky on a Friday !)

Seriously doubt that. He’s played the majority of games he’s been available for and we’ll stay up, can’t see what else could be in the obligation to buy.
He's played 29 league games, there's no way he hasn't met the target number of games played.

Allowing Kelly to go would be folly in my opinion. If we have an upgrade then go for it but to suggest that Sheaf or Hamer is that player is laughable.
Neither can get in to shit team, according to some on here, and it was players like these that put us in a relegation battle with their unforced errors and naivety.
Robins knows who he can trust and team selection tells you that.
I agree that Kelly, and some others btw, is not the answer if we want to go up against the Norwich and Bournemouth teams where his lack of pace is exposed but if we want to consolidate in this league then he is a strong leader and until we have the player to take us to the next level in places would keep him.

Sheafs injured and played almost 4/5 games he’s been fit for and Hamer is off form but still seen as one of the best in the squad by Robins as shown by his interview.

People don’t half talk some shite.

Kelly is a player that you only really appreciate what he brings to the whole team when he is absent. His defensive awareness and coverage makes such a difference. He had a dip in form (distribution) after his recent injury but was great yesterday. Players like Kelly are also good to have around the likes of Eccles and Sheaf.

If by some people you mean my opinion then you are probably correct. That’s all it is.

Its not an opinion, it’s a statement of fact “neither [Sheaf nor Hamer] can get in a shit team”. I’m just pointing out that Sheaf has in fact been in the shit team 8/10 times it’s been a possibility.

I bow to your fact over my opinion. By the way I happen to think we have a decent side and that Sheaf and Hamer are okay but not quite in the league of Kelly, the facts are we gain more points with him in the side. Toss him aside? I would be disappointed if we did.

Fair enough but Im not a Sheaf hater but I just dont rate him

Id like to see a better midfielder his age for the price.

Edit: also a lot of people are trying to convince themselves that Sheaf isn’t really our player and won’t be here next season. Those people are going to be very disappointed in the summer.
