When he was fit and playing at the lower level he was fantastic for us but injuries and age have taken their toll, a lot of the comments on here when he was last fit were saying that he slowed us down but he has done a job here and every dog has his day, sadly his day have been and gone and its time to let him graze new pastures.
Footnote...he was always mentioned by the younger players at the time that he was the best trainer at the club...Good luck in whatever/wherever you go.

'Inside the Kellys'. Good name for a swingers club.

He had a bad knee injury sustained when he collided with a goal post when scoring a goal, I don’t think he has really recovered from that. He trains some of the older Acadamy teams now and again there has been a drip drip of change in the coaching staff at the Acadamy so that might be where he ends up either here or elsewhere, wouldn’t be surprised if he’s doing his coaching badges.

But my lord get rid the blokes a waste of a shirt nowadays, never known someone to be injured so often. Makes Dabo look reliable

Probably best if he does his coaching badges, if he hasn’t already.

We will have the usual push to give him a job for his loyalty a bit like Doyle.

The claims on here that Doyle was the natural successor to MR were insane.

Good signing when we needed his type and was a massive part of our progression. Time to move on he will be not the 1st or last a casualty of the clubs higher aspirations that is left behind.

Kelly has done a great job for us over the years buy I think it's the end of his playing career in the championship. If we want to progress we need better and with a small squad can't afford to have a player injured to this extent. Good luck to him of course!

Been a great servant and an excellent captain but we’ve outgrown him and now he’s injury prone. He’ll be let go in the Summer.

Great servant to the club. Thought writing him off like many did with Fadz was premature. Could still have had a couple of good seasons in him, but it appears injuries are building up and are likely to cut short his career with us.

Doesn’t the CET article quote Robins stating he’d be out for a few days - week at most?

He’d have been useful on Saturday instead of JWE.

If Palmer and Sheaf are out long term, we need Kelly in and around the squad.

Let’s hope they are not then because Kelly is no replacement even at his best he was never the standard of either of those.
