It might be a knee jerk reaction, but “ that man , “ that’s missing from the center of our midfield, a leader is needed & urgently.
So surely Doug , a change of policy is required , to obtain a real gem or 2 …. Even if it is just a loan ?

We wanted the Forest centre back on loan with a view to buy if we got promoted, but they want to sell due to FFP.
BNC, I agree.
Players with experience who are not too old or injury prone rarely go out on loan.

If they’ve still not got rid of Worrall by now and no real interest maybe they might just accept a bit of money off their wage bill seeming as most clubs have probably wrapped up 85-90% of their business

It's occurred to me that when Doug first came in we took several loans in the January transfer market and then went on to get into the playoffs that season. I'm baffled why us so set against it since. Surely that experince alone showd their worth and he should back Frank this January

If we’re talking January, would love to see Worrall if he is willing to come still and would love Ryan Giles.

Not sure how much it would cost or if either are realistic loans but would be my two targets

Ryan Giles ?
Are we going to put him and DaSilva in a man size shirt together so we have a tall left back ?

Giles ? The last thing we need is a full back who can’t defend.

I mean we have two left backs currently who can’t defend and can’t assist. Considering Lampard sides play a lot of crosses traditionally, wouldn’t that play to Giles and Masons strengths (allowing Mason to cut inside more).

Defensively sure, but if you get him back to his boro form, we would get a lot of service for Simms/Wright

We have to fix the defence …..

Course we do, but Dasilva or Bidwell are not offensively good enough to play in the style of play for Lampard.

Want to improve defence give them a leader at CB and get someone to protect them in either DM or CM or they will keep being exposed and we will keep struggling

I don't buy this sorry Bidwell gets forward and puts numerous crosses over, can't speak for when though but he did!
As for DaSilva good on the ball but don't remember him doing that ?

I know Bidwell has done well at set pieces but looking at his stats. Last year he got one goal and two assists.

For a role which is going to be overlapping and putting in crosses (since Mason will be cutting in more), we do need higher. This year he’s not got any assists but has only played nine games.

Dasilva is very much the same but isn’t as good defensively. Hes got one assist this year and three from 37 games. I know Ryan hasn’t had a great time since Boro but in that one year he got more than double both

Great shout, natural leader and worked with Lampard before if not wrong
Spot on (Lampard brought him to Everton). Yes he played yesterday but aside from that cannot get into Leicester's team, it's exactly what we need

Along with a RB, LB and a couple of midfielders...

Wonder if Leicester would release him on free up wages. Could be a great shout on a 1.5 year contract.

RB if we can get Milan back on it, you could solve by just bringing Burroughs back as a backup for half the year and then look to next year.

LB already mentioned Giles and would be my main target but wonder who else is available on either a loan or loan to buy. Mentioned Harvey Vale but not sure he’ll offer the impact needed and would be more of a next season lad.

Struggling to find a realistic CM to come in, not a scout mind so sure someone is out there. Since he signed this year not much chance but Alex Robertson yesterday seemed very much to be the model of the player we would want and only cost Cardiff a million.
