Cashman hasn’t made the squad for Rochdale’s last 5 games playing just 6 minutes in 2022. Hopefully he is sent back soon

Is Cashman injured or just massively unfavoured now? I notice someone tweeted him last week saying 'come home Danny' (Cov fan) and he liked it. So I get the feeling he's not happy.

I thought that was to recall, can the loan not be terminated their end as he is no use to them?

Why would we, if he's not good enough for Rochdale then he's not good enough for us.

There has to be more to it than not being good enough surely? He was getting good reviews early in the season. He scored and got some assists. If he didn't start games he was almost a certainty to come off the bench. To go from that to playing for U23s suggests something going on behind the scenes. It's a shame if the loan cannot be terminated because he might as well be in our U23s and get used to our way of playing by training with us.

Or simply he has no future with us and will be gone regardless so may as well save a bit of cash

It's nothing to do with our fans then , it's actually a common opinion by the looks of it

It's a shock to me, whatever you thought of him here he has performed well at that level in the past.
I don't understand the guy...at times here he seemed disinterested and so far at Portsmouth he apparently is totally not interested, if it is confidence he seriously needs to see a sports psychologist because nobody is going to give it to him

The problem is , much like here , he wants teams to play to his strengths rather than adapt and play to the teams strengths ..

Unless he changes his mindset he can't progress as a player

He needs confidence and it's all been drained. Going to make a fair loss on him unless something changes drastically

Theoretically they could send him back to train with us, but they'd still be contractually obligated to pay whatever contribution they are making to his wages for the rest of the season. From their perspective, wouldn't you keep him around your squad so he could be used if needed rather than send him back and keep paying anyway?

He did look decent its just his lazy looking style...he is not an action packed like Gyokeres but obviously something destroyed his confidence here ...probably after being dropped for scoring 2 goals I would imagine
We don’t play his way. It’s not a reflection on him as a person or footballer. We just can’t afford to have a passive player up front.

Walker being destroyed by pompey fans.. not working out for him ATM at pompey

Seocnd half comeback from 3 down for Pompey but fails to impress again:

Tyler Walker was recalled in place of George Hirst, with the on-loan Coventry City striker desperately needing a goal, or at least an encouraging performance, to win praise among supporters, as well as an ability to keep his place in the team. He started brightly, but it was quickly back to the unflattering performances seen so far. Did seem to battle and press more than normal, but Pompey are still missing a true talisman of a number nine. Saw a goal disallowed after half-time which sums up his current form. 5

I just can't see that. New opportunity playing in a league lower, for a manager he knows and has played well for in the past. He has everything to play for and could have probably earned a permanent move.
There must be something else causing his loss of form / confidence, or whatever.

It's frustrating as if he had hit the ground running, we would've likely been able to recoup a decent proportion of the fee that we initially paid.

However, at this rate mutual termination beckons in the summer unless a L1 club is willing to pay a menial fee for him.
