I don't think last night went well for Labour.
If you can't give a sitting government as poor as this one a real kick in at the local elections then there's something wrong.

Lab

Labours 5 key points,
1) maintain budget while opposing government austerity. (The council clearly have Corbyn bottomless purse)
2) continue Godiva festival?!?! Whilst a agree that Godiva brings a lot to the City and should carry on as year on year it's growing in size and popularity, should it really be in Labour's top 5 priorities? FFS.

Labour really are becoming the laughing stock of politics. They couldn't even win the general elections with 1000s of students voting twice for them. Clowns.

What the ever loving fuck are you on about?

Are you on a bet to show the full extent of your ignorance of how anything works in one post?

There was 1 conviction for double voting out of a total of about 30 complaints country wide.

Council budgets are set centrally pretty much, if you think they’ve got too much blame Theresa May.

And Miliband left after one of the worst Labour defeats in living memory, not even Blair could’ve won that with his 97 swing. Even anti-Corbyn commentators accept it was a good result.

You’re like a caricature of an ill informed moron.

Labour member, didn’t vote. Couldn’t bring myself to do it. It’s a safe as fuck seat and the local councillors are shit (Foleshill - 0 action oncrime, public realm, ASB, fly tipping, parking and bin issues. Only see the fucker when it’s an election, clearly innit for the perks. ), the council itself isn’t much better.

The Tories are morons. Either racist or thick. The Greens is my usually protest vote but they aren’t much better. Lib Dem’s will never get another vote as long as I live.

So I didn’t vote.

Fucked off with it all really.

Country has split down the middle and there’s no 21st century “third way” to split it.

Blairites still think it’s 1997 and everyone’s pro business and internationalist. Left wing think it’s the 70s and everyone’s socialist and anti EU (they’re probably closer).

Country is so fragmented I genuinely don’t think there’s a majority to be had on the Remain side. Until Brexit is done that vote share is staying how it has been for ages: split down the middle.

Pretty sure You’re not a bad person. But equally not everyone who votes different (or even Tory) to you are wrong uns either. It’s about different opinions.

you think the tories haven't got a problem with racism? HAHA!!
I'm not saying they don't, but don't throw stones when you live in a glass house eh!!! It's all well and good pointing fingers when you're squeaky clean, but let's not overlook the terrorist sympathizing racist in charge of Labour. At least it's kept to mainly backbenchers in the Tories, Not the party leader.

if you think Corbyn, a man who's history of fighting racism is well documented, is a racist you're crazy.
The left of the Labour party has an issue with people who can't make legitimate criticism without straying into anti semitic territory that's for sure and it's Corbyns job as leader to sort that out but he's no racist.
I've linked a dossier somewhere on this forum which details pages of Tory racism and one of their own members spoke recently of the Islamophobia issues in the party so surely the people in glass houses comment applies to them when they use their faux outrage to politicise antisemitism as a weapon to attack Corbyn with?

just to be clear, that post isn't aimed at me is it?! (think I'm guilty on at least two counts!)
Nah, here are some righties who are annoying, provocative, and stirring... but at least their position is formed from some kind of basis of a reality on this world.

And then there are others who are... unique.

who'd have thought a thread titled local election thread would descend into politics?

Should just accept they are all slippery twats no matter what party, out for themselves and most of the older fellas need their hard drives checking. ;)
