Long Term Prediction Thread (1 Viewer)

I was going to start this thread this morning but didn't get chance.
My first prediction was going to be that the attention will now move to the Butts. With the press release and the mantra will be re-emphasised in the forum
Something most Cov fans would love and so it's perfect.
On top of that we will told that MR will have a promotion budget (turns out its a top 8 budget, not the top six budget I was predicting, so I would have got that slightly wrong.

I predict next year MR will over achieve but a lot of people won't realise that he is. The top 8 budget will end up been a top 14 one after season tickets sales. However we won't hear about that.
We will finish 10th-12th.
People will call for Robin's head.

The Butts idea will get pushed more and more. People will get very excited about it and there will be lots of debates on here about its viability.
There will be lots of leaks by Les Reid with his biased caveat at the end of the story which ends up longer than the story itself.
The council will be portrayed as putting up hurdles and blocks to the Butts idea.

JR2 will fail and SISU will be advised to drop it. However they will ignore legal advice and keep appealing.
Wasps and the Council will be shafting CCFC financially, wherever they can as this drags on.
Each appeal will fail.

If we are lucky we will get a one year extension at the Ricoh. However I think it is just as likely we end up renting elsewhere. Playing in front of tiny crowds blaming the council and Wasps.
This will then be followed by a relegation battle just as all appeals for JR2 fail. MR will become a scapegoat to take pressure of those running the club he will be sacked.

We will have got nowhere with the Butts project.

Only at this stage will someone else finally take over the club. However they will have some job on their hands.

I am happy for this to be brought back up in two years.

Feel free to put your own predictions on here for

1) Stadium future
2) Football performance future
3) Ownership future for the next two seasons.

I predict we will argue on SBT especially over issues where people state 'Fact'

I also predict Italia will bang on about Wasps and then state he has never whored on their behalf.

As for for your questions,

1) Ricoh then Butts
2) Upper mid table Div 2
3) Sisu then several bids from different parties and eventually they will leave.
(Fact)

Estimated facts or just facts?

Hang on, Ricoh then Butts??
Do you believe in the Butts smokescreen?
Or do you just see us there with a tiny capacity increase?

1) Stadium future.
TF will continually repeat his bullshit about having the funds to build a new stadium and the usual sheep on here will lap it up. Then the new stadium "plans" will go tits up, Fisher will blame some scapegoat (e.g., the council, or Cov rugby), and the usual sheep will lap that up as well. Meanwhile we will ground share with Nuneaton. Big non-league derby in a shared ground.

2) Football performance future.
Bottom half of L2 next year + possible relegation. Relegation nailed on within 3 years.

3) Ownership future for the next two seasons.
If we sell enough season tickets SISU will hang around in the hope that Wasps go tits up. If SISU eventually secure ownership of the stadium from Wasps I would expect that SISU will then try to find a buyer for the club. Until that happens they will try to breakeven no matter what it does to our league position.

Very difficult for 1 +2 as yiu've set no time parametres
1) Ricoh then Butts
2) top 6 with promotion back to League one (next season) then mid table in league one
3) sisu still here

1. Ricoh for the foreseeable future but maybe Nuneaton or another groundshare if wasps decide to stay tough
2. Mid table next season then relegation battle then conference within 3 seasons
3. Sisu but praying for a change

If we follow your preferred approach of ignoring any plans for the Butts, it's still viable as a temporary ground. Much as Brighton found themselves in the Withdean while sorting out Falmer, it wouldn't be overly hard to erect some temporary stands and have a ground ready to go.

So the Butts after the Ricoh deal runs out is by no means mpossible, or even unlikely.

The concept of redeveloping The Butts isn't an issue for me.
I never see it getting past as capacity to 12-15k.
However I do see that as viable.

That's not the bit that tells me it won't happen.
That's also not the bit that leaves me gobsmacked that people are falling for it all over again.

Why is it falling for it to encourage the club to come up with plans to show how it can work?

I remember Brighton's plight well, not too dissimilar to ours in absolute shite owners and moved around from pillar to post. I have watched how they have developed since and know that with the right owners we will have potential...whenever that happens.

I totally agree with your sentiments above, and unlike some of the screaming hysteria last night by posters such as Italia, we know the Ricoh will still be there if we were moved to the Butts, and if we had any success there would always be the potential of returning.

Plan A a new stadium in the Coventry area, the location can't be under the duristriction of CCC.

We are never coming back to the Ricoh unless we are owners.

Plan A new stadium, Plan B the Ricoh.

SCG set up.

Weeks away from buying land.

Down to two sites.

Plans made for new sites.

The finding is in place Joy is excited by the new stadium project.
New stadium will have training ground and academy so 60 acres needed
Architects designs in place. Money spent on lots of stadium related plans.

SCG dispanded as no land is even ever bought.

Plan A long term stay at the Ricoh
Plan B of new stadium ready to go and site identified.

Plan A The Butts 12k capacity
Plan B of new stadium ready to go and site identified.
(Bit of uproar from fans regarding small capacity)

Plan A The Butts 15k capacity, modular rising to 25k
Plan B of new stadium ready to go and site identified.

CRFC say none of their plans involve the football club.

Back to plan A the new stadium.

Plan A now The Butts again.

The above has happened over only 3-4 years.

That's why I don't believe and feel sorry for anyone who starts to buy into It and rightly gets excited as 25k in an inner city location would be awesome

( however that's also the beauty of it for SISU, it's what we desperately want to hear. )

ratehr stay at ricoh for selfish reasons but it dont look like wasps are giving up any revenue

after northampton and rumours of nuneaton, rushdena nd diamonds old ground, merriden etc i would be more than happy with butts at around 12k

attendence wouldnt be an issue till we going for promotion to championship really.

I doubt that. Not if Wasps are still there and not unless they are struggling.

Personally I hope the whole project goes tits up and it fails miserably.

Just the history of false promises that have let us down time and time again.
Now the Butts a concept that really would get us excited and rekindle thoughts of Highfield Road. The idea of getting a beer and slowly meandering up the local roads starting hear the atmosphere and feel the vibes.
It's the perfect location to really have us fans over again. We want yo believe in it.
So instead of outright saying sorry Mr Fisher this is the 6-7th contradictory announcement about stadium plans in 3-4 years.,
We are not having any of this, we are not interested till we see building start. That is what your continuous false promises do.
Same with the lines about mistakes have been made, The manager has to be backed and given the tools.
This is the same person a few months ago on talk sport saying tough crowds down budgets will go down. His remit is breakeven. It's as simple as that.,
Now he can tell us Mar Robins budget for next season before we have had ticket sales. Before he has gone to SISU for the budget.

I'm not sure Otis. I think Wasps will always struggle, and they are whores to money. Lets not forget Derek Richardson bought he lease to line his own pockets first and foremost.
Rugby is cyclical and they are currently near the top of the cycle, they will be on the downward slope in the future, and they will need every penny they can get.

Which project do you hope goes tits up? The Butts? I don't as sadly I am beginning to feel without it our football club wont survive.

I think you must be missing the debates about whether the retirement village is going to be a sticking point or not.
Or what capacity we need.,
Or the state of the pitch with two rugby teams on it.
Or whether the capacity will be increased in the future.
Or about the revenue funds it will raise for us.,
How the people who bought the houses and flats knew planning permission was in place.
Granted there are less people falling for it then the first new stadium stuff.
Also there are definitely less people falling for it than last time the Butts was leaked as the new stadium option.
never the less some are still having it again

Is falling for it accepting that there is the possibility of a viable stadium there? Because if so I have fallen for it...but that there is the possibility for a viable sports stadium, not whether it is suitable for CCFC.
But if there was a scenario if it was there or leave the city I would take there in the short term.

Yeah, I think its a viable option, albeit probably on a temporary basis if wasps kick us out.

If its that (with temporary stands) or sixfields, I know which one I would choose.

No I think that it is viable to have a stadium there.
11-12 k tops.
I also understand all the logic of why CCFC need their own stadium.

Falling for it is even for the remotest second believing that SISU will do it after everything else including the Butts we have beeen promised in the past. That has not happened.
For me it's very much the case of the boy who cried wolf.
I think because it's the Butts and people are desperate for it to be true. The concept of SISU coming good on their statement is getting more credence than it deserves.
