Longest-serving player? (1 Viewer)

Discounting, Sheff's first spell, which of our players counts as our longest-serving? By that, I mean the first one to play first team for us?

I think it might be Wood or Bell - either way, the fact we've no personnel left from our squad of 3 years ago tells it's own sad story and gives an indication of why we have fallen so far. Consistency of team selection is in many way the key to consistent performance.

the reason we have dropped so low is down to quality or lack of.also the will to win has been absent in recent years

Having checked, it is depressingly Bell - Joined in January 2009. Clarke made his debut on 9 August 2009 and Wood made his on 21 November 2009

Can we say it all started going wrong when we signed David Bell? :D

Hired Chris Coleman is where it went really wrong. Nothing quite like watching 20-goal strikers deployed on the wing every week. HINT, AT!

In The Wheel in Courthouse Green there is a picture of our team photo in 2007/08. Dowie was the manager. Obviously none of those players are here now but interestingly enough Danny Ireland, who has just left us, is in the team photo!
