On ITV last night they said only 4 of last 20 championship teams in FA cup QF's had gained promotion the same season.

That's quite healthy isn't it?

Assuming equal chances of getting there it’s not bad what with 3/24 up each season.

Surely the real question is, would you rather lose 8 nil to Man City or Liverpool in the final of the FA Cup, or lose 3 nil to Southampton or Norwich in the playoff final?

Probably lose the SF and not make the playoffs, gives us a full preseason with knowing what league we are in.

It must have shackled us a bit last year. Other clubs could plan ahead and we didn't know if we would be purchasing Premier players or Championship ones.
