If you're going on the piss while on keto be prepared to feel drunk far quicker than usual. I remember going out for a few pints when I was on keto and I was steaming after about 5 pints and the hangover was awful.

The next time I planned a drink I just loaded up on carbs in the morning / afternoon and wrote the whole day off.

Cheers, good advice. I'll have a full irish at the Koffee Pot in Manchester in the morning then with copious toast.

Had a good weight loss year last year, was down to 11st now up to 11st 6lbs due to Xmas so need to shed a bit back off!

Kicking of 2020 with a proper diet, no fads, no targets, just going to eat healthier, cut out chocolate, crisps and fast food, and see where that takes me (hopefully not to the chippy)
Doing the dry January as well, as battering the guiness has left me feeling sluggish, and my skinny trousers haven't seen daylight for a couple of years. Also plan to walk more and be more active in general.
Hopefully I can get plenty of timber off before summer, I'll let you know how it's going, and good luck to all fellow chubsters who are making real changes in their lifestyle.

Your right fella, cutting out basics can make the biggest difference. Cutting out bread for me did that nevermind chocolate, crisps etc!

makes sense, trying specific diets or setting targets can set you up to fail. Making lifestyle changes seems a more sensible approach.

I'm going to completely cut out added sugar as that has always hampered my weight loss.

I can eat a packet of crisps and feel satisfied but once that sweet poison passes my lips it's game over. One biscuit and two hours later I'm covered in chocolate lying in a crack den with a Toblerone shoved up my arse.
I’d certainly recommend not eating that toblerone!

It's the constant stream of chocolates, biscuits and cakes in the office that kills me. I have no will power.

I don’t think willpower comes into it. Sugar is a drug and a toxin that rewires your brain, so anytime the a hint of something sugary comes along your brain is defenceless.

I think the only way around it short term is to take yourself immediately away from the situation, let the sugar leave your system and then in the long term will power can help but then one slight slip up, a cheeky hob nob at lunchtime completely sets you back.

I truly believe it's as addictive if not more addictive than cocaine, heroin or booze. It doesn't impair your functionality, that's the main difference.

Agree wholeheartedly with that, I can go weeks at a time without anything sweet but then once I have a bar of choc I will have one every night for a few weeks. It’s helped me redevelop my gut in time to lose it again throughout January.

I will be cruising along fine without sugar and then from nowhere a voice will say "You can have just one bar of chocolate. You've got your shit together now, you're stronger than sugar. Just do it. Buy that delicious huge sharing slab of Galaxy and just have a few chunks, just a few.."

I'm intrigued as to how that leads to you shoving it up your arse, though.

This one suggests it can be a gateway to increased alcohol usage as well.

First visit to the gym this year Did 30 sit up , plank for a minute , lots of various light weights but more reps , 20 minutes on the cross trainer and managed 6 minutes on the treadmill before my ankle told me to stop
Then swam for half an hour I intend to do this 3 times a week and walk the dog for an hour every day . Never gonna have a 6pack but will trim the barrel

Managed to negotiate a better work pattern to allow me to better manage my gym routine. Mon/Tues I’ll be doing an upper body/lower body split with a focus on activation and functional training, Weds rest, then Thurs/Fri the same upper/lower split with focus on strength training. Think it’ll give me a renewed motivation and should yield decent results if I’m disciplined.

i also will have better working hours so i will be doing 4 day split with 2 days cardio

It’s all gut for me so usually no carbs and no beer has the desired effect but seriously contemplating getting a PT.

I’m doing dry first 6 months of the year and running at least 3 times a week. Training for cov half and trying to knock a minute or two off my Parkrun pb.

just done a comfortable 7.75 miles in 2 hour half marathon pace. Hoping to come in around 1.45-1.50 and knock 15-20minutes off last years time.

4lbs down since New Year’s Eve with no change to my diet.

I started properly yesterday. First day without anything sugary in months.

I was meant to do 100 pushups but only did 10. I had a banana for lunch and a dinner of salmon, sweet potato and broccoli.

Weighed myself this morning and lost 4lbs.

Fuck me. Weighed myself for the first time in ages and am far fatter than I thought, over 16st. Got about 80lbs I want to lose. The idea of 2lbs a week for 40 weeks makes me want to dive into a vat of burgers.

Trying intermittent fasting and just watching food for now. But need to go pretty hard this year. God damn relationships making me stop trying :mad:
