Like all players on the bench he should be trying to convince the manager he is ready to go on if needed, goalkeeper or not. That is just basic professionalism - prepare to be called upon, let the manager make his decision, make sure you’re ready if he calls you, and if not, wish your mate good luck and sit back down. I’d much rather that than him be sat there with a face like a smacked arse looking disinterested.
I think that’s pretty much what he did and he was actually very supportive of Collins which was good to see.

A lot to be said about this post. Players attitude in training, in the team, out the team, on the bench, how they support other team mates. Desire to get on the pitch. Drip drip drip in the coaches and managers mind. Always be ready for your opportunity!!

There's nothing more to this than him coming back to be third choice and the chances of him playing any minutes is about 0.001%.

Setting aside how people feel about his ability and performances, I’ve always gotten the impression that Wilson is a good lad and a good pro. Obviously he is a bit of a joker, but he is also clearly someone who takes his job seriously, trains properly, and is a good teammate, regardless of his standing in the pecking order. That’s worth a lot in a squad, even from your third choice goalkeeper.

I have never had a problem with Wilson. I thought people got an unjustified downer on him similar to Bidwell. I have never bought into this idea he was protected by a good defence. Yes he was but he did a good job behind it. He made very good saves to keep us in games or keep us in the lead

I have never had a problem with Wilson being in the squad.

THe way i read into the situation is Frank feels collins is a better keeper, but we are more likely to get a fee for him/be able to keep Wilson as number 2 on the cheap.

We’ve been linked with a GK already so imagine there’s serious plans to get better coverage/competition in the squad. Especially now we won’t have Dovin for much of next season either.
