Babb was class. I think started as LB but much better as CB? Had a brilliant World Cup. Very quick. At least was until...:Think McNally (granted older) was better than Doyle personally. I think Doyle will go on to be a better player though if you get me?
Scott Dann probably the last one for me. I am old enough to remember Babb, but young enough to not be able to remember how good he was!
So sorta like Vic/Doyle in reverse?Babb was superb. Outcry when he was sold, and we only used a portion of the fee to pay for Dion Dublin...
He was superb, very consistent. Him and Kilcline were the best CB partnership I've seen at the club, complimented each other perfectly. I remember getting upset when Peake scored a rare goal but it was given as an OG-maybe on a muddy pitch v Newcastle?I was a big fan of Trevor Peake, I've never been a fan of nippers in that position. The way he read the game made up for is age. Very unlucky not to play for England I think.

Agreed, Atherton was also very very good. Went on to be mostly used in midfield or at RB by Wednesday and Bradford, which I could never understand!Babb was good but he was also in a partnership. He did the headlining Kilcline stuff whilst the understated Peakey mopping up was done by Peter Atherton. Never thought Babb was as solid after we sold him. And Atherton sort of disappeared into the shadows as well.
Think it’s his neck that will take longest to unveil! If it's anything like the season tickets, we'll announce the signing of his legs first, his arms in a week, and his head will join in a month's time for a fee none of us are happy about.

My memory of this time differs…Babb was good but he was also in a partnership. He did the headlining Kilcline stuff whilst the understated Peakey mopping up was done by Peter Atherton. Never thought Babb was as solid after we sold him. And Atherton sort of disappeared into the shadows as well.
Trevor Francis stole Atherstone? He'll be after Nuneaton next.My memory of this time differs…
It was Atherton who did the donkey work, with Babb mopping everything else up. Atherstone was stolen off us by Trevor Francis.. He offered a very low price, and it went to a tribunal and they only upped it by a relatively small amount from his bid. He was worth a lot more.
He's welcome to it!Trevor Francis stole Atherstone? He'll be after Nuneaton next.
Town full of nuns - probably not...He's welcome to it!
Have seen a few people say he's signing at 5.
Full of shit...Are we there yet..?
Limp dicks more likePeople who make stuff up are knobs

And probs wont be signing in general
Exactly this Babb did the tidying up.My memory of this time differs…

Atherton had a solid career at Sheffield Wednesday and then Bradford in the top flightBabb was good but he was also in a partnership. Based on Saddlebrains past he's as good as on the team sheet for the first match! He's going to Dubai tomorrow.

Wasn’t he the one who scored a bizarre own goal away somewhere, maybe QPR?Atherton had a solid career at Sheffield Wednesday and then Bradford in the top flight
