And as some of us pointed out at the time, with games in hand and having played a disproportionate amount of away games.

You need to learn to be a bit more balanced, that way you might not call it wrong so often.

we can’t keep playing catch-up. law of averages sooner or later it comes back to haunt us. How can we go from a top 6 finish and a playoff finalist to currently a team threadbare. no kit yet, potential pre season tour being cancelled and our main striker currently in a transfer saga which doesn’t look ending anytime soon.

currently we are playing catch-up again and it’s only so many miracles robins can produce.

The kits sorted.
Where do you get this about the pre season tour being cancelled?
People need a bit of perspective, now last pre season, that was a shit show.

kit is sorted but still not released due to issues negotiating a sponsor.

Cancelling the tour is being talked behind the scenes because some feel it’s not feasible.

so as it stands, you feel we are not behind other teams and playing catch-up already?

Well I have no idea whether what your saying about the tour is true or not, but I'd bet its bollocks and it will go ahead.

Not sorting a sponsor and therefore not being able to sell kits is piss poor.

Having a star striker in a protracted transfer saga, happens at lots of clubs.

But it doesn't add up to the doom and gloom being spouted on here and is nowhere near approaching some of the shit shows we've had in recent years yet we still prevailed.

All spin and bluster at the moment I'm afraid!

I see you didn’t answer my question. do you think we are behind most teams in terms of players? are we currently playing catch-up on teams already?

So what if we are? At any given point one team or another is going to be behind. It doesn't mean we won't catch up, it certainly doesn't mean that we don't have targets and negotiations ongoing.

It all comes down to whether you trust MR to do the business or not.

It's a silly question to be honest.
There's a whole host of factors involved in preparing a team, I don't know the ins and outs of everyone so a yes or no answer doesn't really cover it.

2 reasons why we have a threadbare squad;
1) we have only made 1 signing and it is clear we ideally need another 8 or 9. Fortunately we have weeks to get deals done and the complexion of the squad will look very different if we made 4 or 5 signings in the next 2 weeks.

2) we released a lot of deadwood and players who weren't good enough. And I presume the plan is to get better players in that who we let go.

I have faith we will once again build a side.

We were playing catch up a few months into last season and were a kick away from promotion.

I'm quite calm about playing catch up after *checks notes* day 1 of pre season.

to all saying it’s fine.robins has worked miracles in the past.sooner or later he can’t keep producing miracles. surely the whole point of sisu going is so robins doesnt have to perform miracles and can work on a decent budget?
Are the Sheaf bid rumours true?

But what's to say he isn't going to have an improved budget?
If he isn't given one then he's been let down, but it's early days yet.
Most clubs have signed only between 1 and 3 players, so I'd imagine there's plenty more championship business to be done.

Granted our squad is probably thinner than most but there's been times in the last couple of seasons when we've had to pad out the bench with kids and even 2 keepers.

If that happens this season, that will be the time to melt down but there is nothing at the moment to suggest that will be the case.

let’s how the next few weeks pan out.

it’s similar to last week where you have fans saying it’s only June. Now it’s first week of July with no new reinforcements. Robins has always been an advocate of doing business early. he will not be happy with how it’s going thus far.

We don't know what the budget is............

The threadbare squad in my eyes is partly due to a poorly recruited u23s. Aside from Eccles and Howley, (tavs when fit) nobody is near breaking into the 1st team squad. And haven't for ages. We've got about 15 players who aren't knocking on the door, what's the point of them?

I would think the signings of new players round the division is just starting let’s see where we are this time next week.

Nearly all the signings made so far at our level will have been where a club wants certain players off their books or a club paying valuations off the selling clubs.

The most important part is yet to happen. The Prem loan signings. Clubs are waiting to see who is available and if they can have them. Then clubs will see what positions they have to fill. Most will do it as cheaply as they can.

There's a long way to go yet. Robins knows what he is doing. He will have his targets.

So what do you know about our budget? 🤔
