That’s what baffles me to be honest. I only support Cov because it’s my local team and that was drummed into me from a young age.

Seeing people support clubs miles away, that they’ve only seen on TV is just not for me.

I feel this way about people who voluntarily move to Coventry

Sorry to add but thought to clarify I thought the club only had an issue when tickets were being sold on or when season tickets were being misused (adult coming on a kid ticket).

In this case, if someone has bought him a ticket without him paying them too isn’t that above board rule wise.

You can hand your season ticket to a friend, the club has confirmed this is okay as long as it is the same category of supporter.

Away tickets are likely have harsher terms attached.

It's also actually a criminal offence to sell tickets in any end without the permission of the club.

Imagine the work involved organising the monitoring of ticket sales for this sort of thing. It would cost the club a load of money to monitor, yet people only kick up a fuss for a handful of games each season, and some of those grumbling probably still wouldn't get a ticket. It's not perfect, but few systems are. If somebody wants to pass on a ticket on the odd occasion, no big deal for me, If that said person kicks off at a game, then the ST holder who has passed on the ticket gets into trouble, which is fair enough, An effective ST exchange system would help in general though.

No, I’m expecting ordinary fans to accept that tickets can and do find themselves in the hands of people who have fewer supporter points but better connections. And unless it’s happening on an industrial scale or involves rampant profiteering then it’s not worth any of the parties involved crying foul.

That is not what you said, you compared an employee benefit scheme where the club gives tickets to players so their friends and families can watch them play to tickets sold to the general public.

I have had my issues with him but I have seen them move people out of the seats at the front even when they didn't have those tickets so it does happen.

I ain't going, working Saturday as with a potential play off campaign on the horizon I want to go easy on AL usage and how many favours I am pulling in at work- If it wasn't a big game I wouldn't be bothered as Kenilworth Rd is the pits and Luton itself is a crap away trip

Maybe I am a bit indifferent as I was never going anyway and am not missing out but can't help but feel the pile on to one singular lad is a bit unnecessary, there will be enough people in the away end on Saturday who on paper don't qualify for a ticket by virtue of supporters clubs or knowing the players

I suppose that's why rules are always being changed. Current laws are not the same as they were decades ago, and the club's discretion should be allowed. It will only be the odd game game a season that ever affects an individual. Re: the young Argentinian fan, it will be one individual out of hundreds who are thinking 'it could have been me' Seems a disproportionate thing to get het up about imo. If the club stopped him attending, you'd still have hundreds of disappointed fans grumbling about other people in the system who are stopping them getting tickets.

Rightly or wrongly, the club has motivation with the home tickets as they want those tickets to be resold by the club to increase income. That wouldn't be the case with aways so theyre never going to bother cracking down.

Yeah I thought it was all okay. On away tickets while I’m sure it has to be monitored more harshly. I don’t see the big issue here. If his mate has clocked he’s coming back on holiday and bought him a ticket, that’s life no?

I honestly haven't read all of this thread so forgive me if this has been already been answered but how would the club monitor someone with xxx points buying a ticket for a friend who has very little? Surely they won't know?
