I was watching the game and then watching the recording of "Unforgotten" from yesterday with my wife. Apologies for the lacking of piping in the interim.

Max was let down this evening by a lack of commitment and skill from the other players. I note that Godden and Walker, even when playing together as two 'up top' failed to reach the pinnacle that Max set by missing three clear-cut chances. If I were Robbings, I would have the pair of them studying Max's game and learning.

Looks like a few have lost it since the start of the season, at least we had a battle in us
Hamer head gone
Dabo different player
McCallum eye on Norwich
Defensively the step up in quality has been too much
We have missed Kelly
O’hare is a trier and deserves his place in a side lacking confidence
And we need but can’t afford a Keeper and striker
....And our passing has gone backwards
Managerial problem?

Genuinely don’t think we have enough players at the level we need them.

The only ones who I think compete

Dabo but he’s been unfit
Osti and he’s carried the defence
Kelly been injured and lacks pace
James but we’ve needed more
Ohare speaks for himself
Hamer but not since January

That’s 6 players who are good enough. Others may grow into being good enough

McCallum
Sheaf
Rose?
Walker

But that’s the reason we are struggling and really if we finish where we are now that will be just fine

We are also desperate for quality in goal. Stockdale for Wycombe would be a huge upgrade on what we've got at the moment.

Not a chance in hell McCallum gets into Norwich's team next season. I have a really horrible feeling if we stay up he'll end up coming back.

I’d happily have him back. As a 20 year old, he’s not out of his depth in this division and will only get better. Granted, there are a few games where you’d look to bring him off as he’s underperforming however we don’t really have the luxury of other options.

He didn’t have any sitters:
Unlucky with the first...looked in all the way until hit post:
Second should have done better but ball did bobble...but yes should have hit target:
Great block on the third...player threw himself at it ...it was on target.

Three good half chances...didn’t see any as sitters.
More disappointed with his hold up play (only once did he bring others in) ...if we play him as lone striker we need to get players supporting far more quickly than we do and he needs a better first touch.

Didn’t have any sitters? What game were you watching. Walker and Godden would have scored all 3 of them.

in fact we’d have been slating him for missing them in league two.

Mccallum hasn't beeen great for a while but he's got no competition and most definitely needs a rest. So fucking annoying Reid got injured on day 2 of training. Mind you according to the same bollocks article CET post twice a week with the same quotes, he should be back this week as original diagnosis was 6 weeks out

Reid is 18? Sam will be miles ahead of him at the moment.

Only thing that can save tonight, is a Brum and Whensdeh loss tomorrow.

Or a win vs Wycombe, as got to assume SW and Brum will lose Saturday.

Or both :D

Gunning for the automatics far better than the side we have just gifted another piss easy 3 points to
My point was we beat brentford but we're bigging up derby because they drew tonight? It's stupid.

Guess we should have been more like derby and played for the draw against Brentford?

Derby would trade there point tonight for three points against us every day of the week.

Derby lost to us and have 2 points from 4 fixtures

In the same time we have 3 points from 2 fixtures nd beat derby

Coventry fans 'why can't we be more like Derby'

This.. I can accept when the other team is just better. It’s when we constantly shoot ourselves in the foot and repeat the mistakes time and time again.
The thing is, and I’ve only come to “get” this in recent weeks...isn’t that the very definition of them being better? I.e that they don’t make the stupid mistakes and shoot them selves in the foot?

I feel like our frustrations are because we are so close to being able to compete but we keep making stupid errors, losing concentration, and getting punished for them.

Well, as unpalatable as it may be, that is because the players who do so are not consistent enough and, quite bluntly, not good enough.

Pretty much sums it up really
The higher up the pyramid you go it's only those who manage to be consistent week in week out who survive
We have too many who can be outstanding one game in 3 or 4

Like the Godden against the keeper shot that hit the corner flag you mean

Two more points than ourselves courtesy of all the points we have needlessly chucked away this season

You've got plenty of case studies to try and answer that question, that first half has been repeated countless times this season. Start brightly, miss one or two glorious chances, concede an awful goal then perhaps concede another by or just after half time.

I think we will scrape staying up but will have made it so so much more difficult than it should have been. And pretty much entirely self inflicted

The reason for that is we are basically a League 1 squad playing in the Championship.

Was McFadz a clear red? I haven't seen a replay. Looked pretty close blank range to me. Not much he could do and part arm part chest?

No it has just been a long hard season. It was a very unusual and difficult pre season after the long lay off. I tthink it was hard to get fitness levels up to speed before the start of the season. Once you get into the cut and thrust of the fixtures and still playing catch up it is difficult to improve them.

McF was very harsh as I said last night, hope we already filed the appeal

On the topic of Fadz red card surely because later in the match their goalkeeper got given a free kick for impedment of the ball when he came out to claim it so surely Wilson should have instead of us getting a red card

Yep pen but no red for me

I'm not even sure it's a pen by the new rules. It hit the top of his arm. It certainly wasn't deliberate.

Looking at the Biamou chances again, first one he was unlucky - put it through the defenders legs. Was a decent effort. Second chance was a poor first touch and even worse finish. Absolutely dreadful to be honest.

It was very difficult for him to physically get his arm out of the way and I have to be honest I didn’t think it was a pen in real time or after replays. Think the ref only gave it after a few of theirs were screaming in his face for it

Just seen the highlights as was working last night. Biamou should put that through ball away, won’t get an easier chance to score all season!

Wilson should also save the first , that’s terrible weak goalkeeping! Although with the penalty I understand his thinking , he stands his ground and the player goes down the middle or mis hits it and he saves it so i won’t hold that one against him.

It's deffo Shoulder/"t-shirt line" and not handball. Didn't even really look it in real time.

Anyone else feeling a bit deflated after last night, After the luck we had them hitting the bar twice. Thought it was going to be our night. The max misses and boom then the same old happens.

Yet another example of a weak ref giving something because players have asked for it.

Why we don’t appeal for anything baffles me. We need Michael Doyle in as an ‘annoy the ref’ consultant over the summer.

Yeah we do need to get in the refs face a lot more. Even when we get awful decisions like last night we don't seem to kick off on the pitch and just let the other team boss the ref.
