Mark Robins

I'm sure he'd jump at the chance to manage such a "big club" where the majority of an unusually impatient and unrealistic fanbase would want him out after two losses in a row 😂

Say what you like about our fans, some of who are daft as anything (hi cc84...), but Robins has largely been given plenty of time and patience by most people to get to where we are now. I don't think he'd be an instant success at any club, even given the funds.

The Watford job is the best job in the world for a manager.

Ha ha “go and get Mark Robins”

Sunderland fans just keep on giving dont they.
Off the back of a 6-0 drubbing.

😂😂😂😂😂

It's as if under Mark Robins tenure, we've not had a single massive / embarrassing loss!

Their manager is doing okay.

They'd probably have gone up by now if Jack Ross had remained in charge.

Actually apart from the original post (which might not even be from a Sunderland fan) most of the posters on there seem entirely reasonable - few seem to want him and fewer still think it’s ok to assume he would be interested.

For the most part they are like the fans of many clubs (including us) - decent fans of a football that’s had some very rough times and have been constantly taken for granted and deceived about the reality of finances and takeovers.

So many managers have failed there in recent years that you have to conclude that it’s almost impossible to put things right there.

That said I’m no fan of Johnson and suspect the writing was on the wall when Chris Macguire went back and scored a hat-trick vs them earlier this month and ran 30 yards to take the piss out of Johnson rather than celebrate his first goal.

Johnson did win them the EFL Trophy - their first Wembley victory since 1973 - but with a reputation for poor man management it was odd that he chose the pre-match conference on Friday to ramble on about covid -vaccine conspiracy theories being responsible for Lee Burge’s injury*

To follow that by losing 6-0 to Bolton in front of 5k of your own fans (and on a weekend when there was no Prem football for the media to talk about on 606 etc) was always going to cause speculation on his future.

They’ve got to learn from how most sides have gone up from that league. Not by panic spending on random individuals but by getting well drilled and organised with a touch of quality.

"No thanks, another one of these small time lower league plodders who haven’t got a f***ing clue about managing a club of our size with (whether you like it or not) premier league expectations in terms of standards"

You still have time to change your mind @JimmyHillsbeard !

I think this is closer to the truth...

Basket case club. Mad their fans seem to be delighted too.

Tough job at Sunderland has got even tougher now the Toon army are likely to be camped in the top slots of the premier league for ever thanks to that rich a rab pumping his loose change into Newcastle

Rinse and repeat, they always seem to sack a manager at this stage of the season after they are going through a sticky patch. It would be great if they failed to make it up again.
