Did say I was ITK regarding this move and he wan’t joining Tottenham. Am happy about this, but bet he turns out pants

Maddison is a class act, I said he'd played for England the first time I saw him, and he just keeps getting better. Fantastic signing for 25mill. Far better then Grealish.

Assuming we get 5mill from the deal, I'd be chuffed to get 1mill to spend on players.

Did anyone hear the sell on % was more than the usual 10-15. In fact it was more like 25%, hence the initial paltry fee and the fact that it was hailed as a fantastic longer term deal for the club.

Anywho Robins will be lucky if he sees 20% of the 20%

We'll receive the money in stages over several seasons I would imagine, it won't be one lump sum. There is no evidence money is being taken out, so would imagine it will stay within the club. How much Robins receives for player budget and how much is used to cover costs remains to be seen.

Either way, the money is very welcome. The equivalent to about 15,000 season tickets, so it is very significant.

The signs are that the penny has dropped with the owners and they realise the manager and staff need to be backed to achieve the success they need before they can sell the club

So naive. Sisu are just letting the club run itself and aren’t investing out of their own back pockets. It’s the same as it’s always been, except from the fact that better people are now running the club ie Boddy rather than Fisher.

What ever the total transfer fee adds up to for saints or the foxes, we get whatever percentage of that up front. Simple as that. No installments etc. It's up to Norwich to pay that amount to us.

As for Robins seeing any of that money, I doubt it. What it might do is Sisu say there is no need to sell any star players for next season.

I'm not sure how it works with sell on fees, assumed it would be staged in line with with the transfer fee, otherwise Norwich might have to pay their entire first installment to us. Like I say, I don't pretend to know exactly how these deals work.

As for Robins getting none of the money, not sure that has any basis. If they take the money out of the club that would have to show on the accounts and there has be little evidence of that over the last few seasons with transfer revenues received, it has all stayed in the club hasn't it? Again, happy to be corrected. Just wonder why you think it will happen this time.

It's like buying a house. It isn't our issue if Norwich have to give us all the money if that's what they get in a first instalment. That was deal they signed with Coventry.

The money I doubt very much will be available for
Players. More than likely money will go towards the academy and this new site they've found for a new training complex.

I assumed we get a % as and when he triggers things from his move to each club, so if Norwich get 100k for 10 appearances, we get a % of that 100k. If he gets a bigger move again, and Norwich have a sell on clause, lets say he goes for 50 mill up front fee (from Leicester to Man united), and Norwich have a 10% sell on clause, they get 5 mill, but then they'll owe us our % from that 5 million.

We will get 10% of the initial fee up front I believe.
and then the add ons we will get at a later date as and when he achieves things like a first cap for England as you say. Norwich will get say 1 million in add ins when he makes his England debut, and we will then get whatever amount we stipulated from said amount.

You’ve seen the details of the contract with the sell on details then?

Or as usual are you just making stuff up?

Can you show us details of the sell on contract that Norwich signed with us please?

Didn't the accounts show 2-2.5million (can't remember the exact amount) in admin charges last year? That's money out of the club.

I spoke to someone in a high position within the club and he told me that both Wembley matches and the odd chunk of money from player sales etc basically goes to cover the clubs running losses year on year , if you imagine we need say 12k attendance l to cover running costs ( maybe 15k if they throw a few quid in for some half decent transfers ) and we get maybe 7-8k on average gate over the season , then it doesnt take a genius to work out we need to cover losses with things like this. ( not saying those numbers are what we are talking about, but our gate doesn’t cover costs by some margin ) He said robins gets his budget and cup runs and player sales have little impact on that , it just plugs the gap for the losses the club make

Sounds like sound economic sense .. and while sisu may not be willing to sell now it makes us a much more attractive purchase in the future

This will be the most an ex CCFC player has been sold for - eclipsing the £20.3m Liverpool paid Spurs for Robbie Keane I believe unless I’ve missed someone?

I posted yesterday how the vast majority of EFL contracts work and % payments owed to the "original selling club"
That is fact.
I haven't seen the Maddison contract but would be very unusual if any different.

think Saints is a decent move for him. basically a decent club which tends to play its young players.
add-ons etc. normally tend to be related to the first deal (ie. with Norwich) rather than rolling forward to the next buying club unless specifically stated.
sell on %s relate to total value of fee registered with FA not how it is received.
can't remember which player it was we took a lump sum on (cashflow reasons) which backfired when he was sold on for big money.
Wilson's poor season has cost the club a few quid as he was subject to a several 25m+ bids last summer (West Ham, Spurs & another club possibly Everton)

About Wilson yesterday:

Finally, long-term Newcastle striker target Callum Wilson is reportedly demanding £60,000 a week to stay at AFC Bournemouth.

The Magpies enquired about the 26-year-old’s availability in each of the last two summer windows, and Benitez believes Wilson can improve and be moulded into a top-half Premier League striker.

Wilson scored eight times in 23 starts for the Cherries last term, but faces competition for a forward berth from Jermain Defoe and Josh King.

The losses don’t just happen, Sisu have been here 9 years now, it’s entirely their show from wage bill to rental of the stadium. If we are still losing money hand over fist after all that then it’s because they’re fucking shocking at their job.

How many football clubs make a profit? If our rental of the stadium existed at the original rent how would any owner make anything other than huge losses?

Grendel. You are a complete tool. I do wonder if you know anything about football? Maybe Wasps netball might be more your cup of tea?

This has nothing to do with football - I guess we could look at your assessment of our chances last season and your rating of the player we are talking about?

Let’s be honest all you really want to do is type out the “robins won’t see a penny” line - which again is speculation

Robins said at the end of the season that due to the cup run, play offs and promotion we are in a far better financial position than a year ago. This is without player sales

That's true
Like you I haven't seen this contract but Chris Anderson said at the time it included lots of add ons that would pay out over the years
Normally these would be PL appearances, England caps and so on
As these haven't happened yet they would normally carry forward
The % of the sell on fee is straight forward although there may be a clause covering whether we would get our full % from the first installment if the deal from Norwich was done that way
Most are but if Norwich are desperate for cash and there are a number of clubs interested the club prepared to pay most up front would be a big factor

At many points last season it seemed we won't make the autos, then the play-offs and might end up outside the promotion pack. Luckily we managed to pull a run together at the end of the season to get there. My assessment will always change during a season.

Robins will not get a penny from Sisu. The club is being run on a self-sufficient basis.

As for assessments...the fact you still don't rate Biamou is hilarious. If Biamou didn't put the shift and goals he got in the later half of the season we wouldn't have made it. He complemented MM fantastically.

The S*n reporting Maddison has chosen Leicester over Southampton. If true, think that's the right choice for him as a player. Shame.
