she cost the working class alot more than £30 you got luckyDavid Cameron has just written a personal letter to the Thatcher residence.
It starts "I regret to inform you that, due to recent events, you now have too many bedrooms...."
I certainly won't mourn her, I had her to be first to go in 2013 in our "who's going to snuff it next" sweepstake at work. She cost me £30!!
one of the most amazing and inspiring women in history. I find it incredibaly rude and disrespectful that some people are rejoycing over her death. They should be ashamed of themselves
Blair makes her look like an angel and given the opportunity Milliband will even more so, scumbags
Exclude my very working class family from your sweeping statements
Well yes she was really the first politician to make style and image key factors in British politics. Her biggest crime was creating a system that delivered us the ghastly Blair creature and his successor "Dave" Cameron.
Did anyone see the Miner on Sky News? He said he was celebrating today as are many other mining communities throughout the country. Very true. She destroyed our mining industry and even today we still import nearly 60 million tonnes of coal every year.

"When Margaret Thatcher succeeded in her ideological campaign to wage class war and bring the working classes to their knees she patted herself and her toadies on the back. With every life and community she destroyed, every factory shut down or sold off, every mine closed, she licked her blood stained lips and purred with pleasure. When the Falklands conflict was won, at the cost of hundreds of Bri...tish lives and thousands of Argentinians, she called not for reflection on lives lost, but for us to "Rejoice! Rejoice!" With every deed committed she celebrated her victory. I've thought long and hard about how I would react at her death. I always thought I'd celebrate. But that's what people like her would do. I won't be that. So no, I won't be doing a joyous jig. But I sure as hell won't be mourning."

It's taken this long for car manufacturing to get back on its feet (though all the British makers are now foreign owned) as well. The legacy I feel we are still suffering from at the moment is the 'every man for himself' attitude she fostered which has made any form of welfare or charity be roundly criticised or cut. I was born only at the very end of her time in power so I can't compare things now to how they were back then, but I'd be stunned if people were so heavily driven by profit.
I'll exclude myself from anyone who respects her or thought she was good for our country, so excluded with pleasure.
Don't let facts get in the way of a good rant..................there were less than 800 Argies killed in the Falklands war including those on the Belgrano

Good good, everybody still has an opinion. We re not quite down that road yet.
I haven't seen any news items yet as I'm still at work but I can almost garruntee that the only coverage will be positive and not reflect the views of the masses who despise everything she did and stood for.
Its the same assumption last year that everyone loved The Queen and the Royal family and had a great time during the wedding and jubilee. Absolutely nothing given for the strongly opposed views, of which there were many.
Speaking of the Queen-if this is what someone as controversial as Thatcher has got on her death then God knows what the BBC will do when Lizzie eventually dies.
I wasn't a fan of Thatcher at all but having seen the way the world changed and globalisation developed you can see that it was commercial forces not political that has changed the world we live in. People talk about communities breaking down and one distinct difference we have these days is that in the 70's and even 80's Mothers tended to stay at home when the kids were young and comradeship and neighbourly relationships came from that.
Hmm, but didn't she say that she believed there was no such thing as society and also said she was putting money into each individual's pocket for them to do as they pleased with it?
Greed set in and then people then promptly kept all the money to themselves.
There is no community anymore. It's been all but killed off.
I'm emigrating. There won't be a plate on sale in this country without her state dependent face stamped all over it. There won't be a channel on TV without images of Harry returning from "war" with a somber yet satisfied look on his face or William crying into his fathers confused arms. The media will go into overdrive and tacky merch will flood Tescos shelves.
Can't wait!

I wasn't a massive fan (before my time mainly) but she smashed the power hungry TU's which were grinding this country to a holt. I think a lot of people need to look at labour who created our benefits culture which everyone is quick to moan about.
The unions destroyed the car industry.

Unions needed reforming and their powers curbing, but 'smashing?' Why did the unions need to be 'smashed?'
She didn't seek to reform them. She set out to destroy them.
