I think it is at least 2-1 against any manager succeeding at any club. It's pot luck for the most part. I mean, if we break it down to the essentials - a moderate squad payroll and a decent stadium and decent training facilities and a youth academy to draw from - then CCFC is fundamentally sound for a winning team. I expect it's a question of whether the manager has the nous for the league, the ability to command the respect of that particular group of players, and to bring out the best of them. I'm not sure if there's a way to make that recruitment, other than chopping and changing until you hit gold.
